You know you are getting a healthy dog or animal because when they are at the shelter, the dog/animal gets treated if they have any disease or sickness. They also have their vaccinations and shots when they are there, and if you got the dog from a pet store they would not have any of the shots. Most of them are spayed and neutered before they leave the shelter.
Did you know you help more than one animal? You save two lives the one you adopted and the old kennel they were in you opened for another animal to stay in. For example my uncle adopted his dog Rudy Roo a week later there was a new dog in his Rudy's old kennel if he did not adopt Rudy that dog would not have been there.
