There are a wide variety of reasons why one would travel to a destination where he or she has never been before, or even more, has been countless times. Over the years, traveling has become a trend worldwide and it is growing at an overwhelming rate. Personality has been defined as “an organisation of cognition, feelings and behaviours, which gives a direction and pattern to our lives” (Hámori, 2006 cited in Kalmar-Rimoczi & Lenkovics 2015: 81). Each person can have multiple personality traits, thus our travel preferences and intentions are tied to. A theory that can further explain this factor is Plog’s Typology. This theory suggests that there is a relationship between personality types and travel choices, where tourists behavior can be categorized into psychocentrics, and allocentrics (Plog, 1974).
