Personal Statement: Varsity High School Football

Improved Essays
My life outside of school is very important and molded me into the person I am today. I enjoy many things out of school, during the summer and fall I play varsity Highschool football. Football takes up a great deal of my time. Even when were not in season lifting and staying in shape is imperative to success on the field. Before games I like to maintain the idea that were all kids out here for the same reason, too win. Off the field we assist the Habitat for Humanity organization every year and it’s great to see the team come together and help those who are in need. When we’re out helping we like to have fun, that’s when your time left becomes less of a focus and you enjoy the work. Outside football I like to travel and be outside. I also

A blackberry moment of mine was when the Elkhorn Area High School Varsity Football Team won the game against Delavan-Darien High School - the biggest rivalry in Southeast Wisconsin. Just talking about it puts a smile on anyone’s face that was at that game. This rivalry dates back to 1995 and has such high tension that the whole state knows about it. It was my freshman year of high school and I had not experienced the rivalry before but the upperclassman did a great job introducing it to us freshman.…

To Play or Not To Play???“Put Me in Coach” When people reminisce about their high school years, fond memories of being at the height of fitness, spending countless hours with teammates, and playing in the “Big Game” are often treasured. However, some students at St. Anthony High School are choosing not to be involved in the athletic program for social and academic reasons. As a result, many are missing out on one of the most important aspects of their high school career. Although some believe that participation in high school athletics is a roadblock towards academic success and a satisfying social life, students should play at least one sport throughout high school because they will develop critical life skills and increase their physical…

As the sun plummets to its end on a Friday evening, in a small town just north of the capital of Texas. Businesses become calm and streets become lifeless, as an entire community packs into a stadium anxious to see their team go into battle versus that week’s opponent. The level of excitement that has been accumulating all week, rings throughout the stadium as everyone longs for the opening kickoff to heal their Friday football fever. As a four year old I wasn’t able to realize that I was witnessing the greatest football team to ever come through Burnet High School, as they demolished every team that was brave enough to step in front of them week after week.…

Sweat, hard work, adrenaline. These are all things I felt in a special “moment in time” that I shared with my varsity soccer team. Since a very young age, I have had an interest in, and enjoyed caring for others when they are sick or injured. During my Freshman year of high school, I began to realize that the medical field was my calling. I was not sure what area of study I wanted to pursue a career in, but I knew that I had an affinity for the sciences and the medical field. It wasn't until two years later, my Junior year, that radiography became the area of the medical field that I knew I wanted to concentrate on. I have been a cheerleader since third grade.…

Along with academics, I also spend my time participating in co-curricular activities. These activities include sports- basketball, volleyball, and softball- and other school clubs -forensics, FFA, and FBLA. I partake in these activities for the learning experience, but also to be part of more and more teams. I believe working with others to accomplish a goal helps construct many valuable life skills such as communication, patience, and being organized. Failure is all around us, for most of us it is a daily occurrence even with little things like failing a quiz or missing a shot in your game. I used to let my failures define me and who I have been especially when I failed to make the Varsity soccer team my junior year.
