Growing up with computer games, I encountered many instances of victory. Success was an addiction, and the more I experienced the joys of triumph, the more I wanted it. However, the constant challenges made the game more appealing yet aggravating. Failure to complete a mission or win a battle was the bane of my gaming sessions because it evoked frustration and petulance. I learned that giving up is the simplest route out of my situation but does not allow room for improvement. By staying resolute and pushing my limits, I was able to accomplish tasks I was unable to do before. Related rates in calculus, acid-base titrations in chemistry, and the responsibilities of yearbook editor, once challenges I wanted to escape, became more tolerable and worthwhile. I felt capable of accomplishing anything as long as I persevere though the task and work diligently to achieve it. I learned that the best things in life are the things I worked hard to
