Hello Dr. Large this is Danielle Edwards from your OAD 126 online class I'm currently working on my assessments for chapter 24 i have completed the ones in SNAP. However, i didn't know if anyone has brought it to your attention that for assessment 24.3 to complete that assignment correctly you have to complete assessments 24.1&24.2 that i already completed in SNAP. Only thing that 24.3 is asking for me to do is use the same style that i used in 24.1&2 but i can not because that was only a style used in SNAP. I will complete the assessment for 24.3 but it will be in a different style is that

I am glad you brought up that faculty needs to be “competent” in Evidence Based Practice (EBP). I had the opportunity to work for a college as a Clinical Adjunct Instructor (CAI). In doing so, CAI were required to monitor, teach, and be available for questions in the clinical lab prior to going to sites. I had a hard time adjusting to the skills check off list due to some of the skills were not up to date such as Foley catheter insertions. When I brought this to their attention including providing EBP literature.…

The observational rating scale (CIWA-Ar) assessed by a physician, is a standard measuring tool, which uses a set of compared scores that was valued at a global rating of severity (Williams et al., 2001). The CIWA-Ar includes a 7-point-rating scale pertaining to anxiety levels. A clinician or nurse asks the client to rate themselves from 0 (no anxiety) to 7 (equal to acute panic state as seen in severe delirium or acute schizophrenic reactions). Metcalfe et al. (1995) looked at concurrent validity by comparing obtained scores using CIWA-Ar, which produced a correlation coefficient of 0.85.…

Module 2 Discussion 1 1. Discuss how primary research and evidence based practice (EBP) differ and how they complement each other. When providing high quality patient care, it is important to use both primary research and evidence based practice. These processes do differ. Primary research involves individual research studies performed to answer specific questions regarding best practice (Polit & Beck, 2012).…

When nurses use evidence-based practice when caring for a patient, it allows the patient to receive the best quality care that they need. Every procedure that a nurse does should be based off evidence-based practice. At the facility that I am currently working at, it is easy to find resources about evidence based practice. However, one thing that obstructs the facility ability to implement evidence-based practice is that the facility has two educators that work with our department but they are both per diem and are not there often. The education department at the facility that I work tends to forget the emergency room because we do have the two educators.…

Professional Counselors and Evidence Based Practice Student’s Name Institution Professional Counselors and Evidence Based Practice For a long time, there has been a debate in the counseling world with regards to evidence and non-evidence based practice. Each of the practice has its own unique way of achieving best results while on the other hand each has limitations. While evidenced based practice may be advocated for by most counselors, some professionals refer to its limitations as the main reason for not using it. Since counseling takes place within enclosed rooms for confidentiality purposes, it is significant to appreciate the fact that both evidence and non-evidence based practices are being used by professional counselors. This particular discussion aims to provide an analysis of…

First, l am thankful for all who have contributed to seeing me to the end. I also hope to continue to reflect on myself whether by journaling, volunteering and other activities to promote quality of care using evidence based practice in my clinical experience. The fact that the program was online worked for me, as it gave me the flexibility and time to complete all class work on time. I would suggest that the school have a group of past students that can encourage other students and maybe serve as mentors. I would hope the faculty keep on having the weekly discussion board as this helps all students especially when you think you have no idea of what you are doing.…

I took the ACT in April. I received a composite score of 32, which is plenty high enough for the schools I want to attend. I reached this score with a variety of techniques, studying, and knowledge. Of course, I could always improve my scores, especially my Math score. Overall, I was successful on the ACT and I am happy with my scores.…

Intervention and assessment My assessment was based on exchange model because the strenght of this model lies in its ability to promote respect for the individuality of the service user and to empower and encourage the service user's participation in the assessment process and interventions. The service user is viewed as an expert on his situation (Wilson 2008). The decision to use the exchange model was based on my aims. I used this model to empower Patricia by enabeling her to voice her needs and wishes and by giving her choices and by working with her in partnership.…

This assignment will be investigating patient choice in relation to personalisation, the rational for this chosen topic is because Evidence Based Practice (EBP) is largely weighed in patient preferences, which will be explored throughout this essay. Sackett et al. (1996) describes EBP as ‘the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients.’ The main driver behind EBP in health and social care is ‘the delivery of the best possible care, for professional accountability and to avoid negligence claims.’ (Aveyard, 2013)…

I personally have noticed many changes throughout this course. I mostly noticed how now I analyze my jobs more with my coworkers, bosses and myself. I have one job that I absolutely love and another one that I do not care for very much, I did not really understand why because I get along well with my coworkers and higher ups. As our course went on and I started to understand business some more I then realized why there were certain things that were shaping my views about my jobs. One big thing that I noticed was the team work at my jobs.…

Self Assessment Analysis: Listening One major communication flaw of mine is my inability to listen to others at times. The idiom, “you have one mouth and two ears, so you should listen twice as much as you talk,” makes sense. However, it has been hard to implement this idea in my life. I have noticed in conversations that I sometimes “check out” and start thinking about other things, completely ignoring the person talking.…
