.The Blurred view.
Personal Narrative By:Dr.Stefan Stojanovic We ran out. Our feet carrying us forward. Not looking back. Before the bell stopped ringing we were in the main hall. The bright falling sun hit us.We almost got blinded. As our vision returns we see our parents.I look to my left and I see my friend ЂОРЂЕ.I tell him “We are free!”. We run into our parents hands. Hugs are exchanged and we quickly part from our parents and run outside and run around in the school courtyard. We play, run, and talk. After many hours of playing,it starts to get colder. I had spoken,”Hey guys let's go inside.” My friend Aleksandar responded with,”Ok let's go.”.We sped of inside. As soon as we enter my friend Vuk mentioned,”There is nothing to do,what do you guys think about going upstairs?” We all unanimously agreed. We begin climbing the peach colored brick stairs. As we climb up our faces arise above the ground of the second floor. We immediately notice a dark tall presence wearing a red hoodie. The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…

The three of us, being willed on by the attentive, watching eyes of our peers, went into the house to find a spot to sleep for the night. It was around eight o’clock, and the last glimpses of brilliant orange and pink light were beginning to fade into a star filled canvas. We first chose to explore the large, three story home, and then later choose a place to rest. I, against my will, was leading the pack because I had the flashlight. We walked towards the back of the house with the boards screeching and bending under our feet.…

The funny thing is it didn’t seem to be coming from outside but from above me. I thought I must be insane until I feel a warm breath brushing against my chilly skin. I look up and see a figure hanging by their foot out of the air vent just a few inches above me. I’m about to scream when he covers my mouth with his hand just as he falls and lands on the ground. I don’t see much about the figure in front of me, for his pale skin is cascaded in darkness but I do make out I few features.…

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…

“Don’t forget, the paper is due next Wednesday!” My 8th period teacher, Mrs. Oakford told to my class and I as we streamed out of the cramped classroom on a Friday. We couldn’t wait to bust out of the schools doors and claim our prize of a short freedom for surviving another busy, exhausting, and slow week of middle school. I rushed to my locker, grabbed everything I would need for the homework due Monday, threw it in my bag and headed down the hall collecting my friends to walk to town to start what I would hope would be a slow but fun weekend off The weekend went quicker than I wished and before I knew it, it was late Sunday night and I still hadn’t done my homework, I realized this and got to work.…

A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…
