As expensive as it was, my parents who try really hard to make ends meet offered to pay for some of the expenses. However, it was about $1200 to $1500 including tickets, dresses, shoes pictures, food Etc. Which is rather expensive especially, if it was only for one night. Imagine spending $1500 in one day; working all summer and making approximately a little over $500 before taxes just to spend the entire savings or twice as much in one night. The dress alone would cost about half of that and every girl wants to look good and feel pretty for prom. I figured I could cut

Although you have to be 36 years old to legally become the president of the United States, I feel as if I’ve experienced an aspect of presidency in my fourteenth year of living. Of course, it is obvious that being president of my middle school’s National Junior Honor Society is nowhere near being the president of the United States. But in fact, my experience depicts a quite harrowing and concerning aspect of presidency. In an interwoven city and school, creating close relationships was inevitable.…

Pre-Experience Journal Entry I was born to be an engineer. I grew up playing math games, building lego sets, and taking apart electronics. My Senior Capstone Experience (SCE) will definitely be in the area of engineering. More specifically, I would love to do either computer science or electrical engineering, as these are the areas I want to major in when I go to college. I came to GSMST because I have always had an interest in engineering, and GSMST has only made that interest stronger.…

Last Spring, I had a student who was in the final semester of his senior year and was oppositional and rude in class. He had come to us because he had failed out of his previous private school and we were his last option. Because he is very intelligent he loved to point out every mistake that I made in class. I would politely accept these corrections, but was annoyed by his negative attitude. When he refused to participated with classmates during an experiment, I asked him to stay after and speak with me.…

Since my high school Creative Writing class will be an elective class that will consist of students in tenth through twelfth grade, I will need to find ways to bring student fun into the learning as much as possible. I have found that students love to eat and socialize, so I will include food, props, and games whenever possible. Difficulty will occur as the norm for class size at my school is thirty-two to thirty-six students, and not all students want to be in the classes where they are assigned. Since a text will not be available for the students, handouts and overhead projections of terminology and examples of writings will be needed. Keeping the class light and the learning fun and engaging at all times will be my goals.…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

My parents make an average amount of money, but over the past year, the cost of college became a reality to me and my family. Each semester the total cost for my schooling is $8,284.00, since I am currently receiving help from the U.S. Military, they pay for roughly $3,599.00 of my schooling cost, and I thank them so much for their help, but my parents are left with a total of $4,487.00 to pay on their own and it has become a strain on them. I have a younger sister who is in high school who loves playing sports and recently she has come up with the idea of trying to join a volleyball league, which means more money. Due to my parents paying for my schooling I feel like I am restricting my sister from her dream because she is only allowed her…

The Cost of Tuition is Too High The continuous rise of tuition and fees is getting out of control. Alarmingly high numbers of students are resorting to getting student loans to cover the cost of obtaining a higher education.
