Basketball

Have you ever thought about becoming a basketball player? You should definitely consider it! It is my favorite sport ever and I could probably play it all day if I had the chance. In basketball, you need to know these five main skills: Shooting, Rebounds, Defensive slide, Dribbling, and travels/double dribbling/fouling. It’s really not that hard when you actually put some work in and try your best. In the next five paragraphs, I will be going into deeper and further understanding of all of those five topics I mentioned above.

The first thing that we will be learning is traveling, double dribbling, and fouling. These are all things that you are not allowed to do during a basketball game, if you haven’t noticed. Let’s get started

This is probably one of my favorites. When you're shooting, you DON’T want to shoot with two hands. You want to shoot with just one hand. If you are right handed, then you will obviously shoot it with your right hand. If you are right handed, when you are shooting the basketball, you want your right hand to be under the ball, and your left hand to the left side of the ball. When you shoot, you want your right hand to go up and flick as if you were reaching your hand into a cookie jar, is what I was taught. Your left hand will come off on the follow through, which is the part where you flick your right hand. For left handers, you will just do the opposite things that it says. The rainbow starts in your hand and goes up and ends in the basket. There is also another shot to learn. That shot is called a bank shot. A bank shot it when you shoot the ball and it hits the backboard. Once it hits the backboard, it will bounce off and land right in the basket. This kind of shot is tricky to learn, but once you have it down, it is very useful to use in games and

You’re expecting me to give you a step by step, in depth explanation of how to save a ball, but much to your dismay, I don’t have one. The reason being that it’s pretty much an instinct you have or you don’t when it comes to saving a ball. What I can give you is a breakdown of shots you’ll encounter. There exactly seven quadrants the attack players are trained to shoot at: stick-side high, stick-side hip, stick-side low, off-stick high, off-stick hip, off-stick low, and five hole. Stick-side refers to your dominant hand’s side, so if you’re a right-handed person the stick-side refers to the right and the off-stick side refers to your left hand.…

Kids will get to shoot one at a time. However, if they miss to shoot a free throw, they will receive one point and get another one for each consecutive free throw shot ahead of them. The group with the most number of points after a round will be tagged as the loser.…

In my initial Ping-Pong dribble (baseline study), I successfully dribbled the ball fifty-two times. Over the span of thirty days, I decided to spend five minutes every morning shooting free throws with my non-dominant hand (left) at home. The first couple weeks of shooting with my left hand were very difficult because I had no rotation on the ball and felt awkward flicking my wrist. However I noticed that by the third week my arm adapted and I became comfortable shooting with my non-dominant hand. By week four it was astonishing to see myself start making five to ten free throws with ease.…
