Personal Narrative: Tutoring Habits

I am not a risk taker. In fact, if I am presented with two options I will take the one with a lower risk. I am risk aversive. Every day I sit in the same seat, eat the same thing, and walk the same path. Nothing inclines me to make a change; however, that is not because I fear change. I just prefer familiar routine, familiarity is my friend. There is a certain level of comfort that comes with certainty.
Every day for the past four weeks, I walk into the school’s Duncan Donuts to order a vanilla bean colada. It has become a sort of ritual. Every time I go to pick up my drink I glance at the board behind the cashier, I know I will not deviate from the usual. The thought however is entertaining. My eyes race quickly over the other options, options I do not acknowledge. After humoring myself and the cashier, who I am sure know the drill, I order my VBC. So times I take a chance and change the size of my drink, much riskier.

At first it had was Thursday at twelve, but my tutor was on a different timeframe. I could not deal with the possibility of walking in and having my tutor unavailable, that was to ambiguous. Now, when I make an appointment, it is always for Tuesday and Thursday at elven o’clock. I know for certain my instructor will always be there and ready to teach me my lessons before class and I appreciate that. I do not have to pencil that into some meticulously executed to-do list. Never the less it gets done because I know that I can faithful walk in, and if it’s Tuesday or Thursday, my tutor will be
