Two Roads of Great Opportunity People come face to face with decisions every day. Some of these decisions are simplistic, like which shoes to wear or how to fashion one’s hair. On the other hand, some decisions seem impossible to make. In the year of 2018, I was faced with one of those impossible decisions of where I should go to college. Both the colleges had great opportunities waiting for me and I felt much like the traveler in The Road not Taken by Robert Frost. The traveler and I were both faced with difficult decisions that would alter our lives. We saw two roads, one of which looked slightly traveled and the other grassy from minimal usage. Both roads lead to great opportunities making us want to take both roads at the same time, but we knew in the end we were going to have to pick one and hope the road chosen would be the right choice. …show more content…
Both of these colleges had great opportunities for me. If I went to Casper College, I would be given the chance to travel the country by being on the college livestock judging team. The tuition there also had a few perks because of how affordable the college is. On the other hand, if I went to South Dakota State University, I would be a South Dakota State FFA Officer. I would get to be the face of the FFA Association and be a role model to all the FFA members in South Dakota. I wished I could do both because I love to livestock judge but I also have an untamed passion for agriculture. I felt much like the traveler in The Road not Taken when he says “I am sorry I could not take both” (Frost 1300). We both want to take each path because even though we could both see down the paths “To where it bent in the under growth,” (Frost 1300) we still did not know the final outcome of where the roads would

Fork In the Road In life, there are times where decisions need to be made. There is an array of decisions that you are going to come across whether the purpose is growth, career, or relationships. Robert Frost and Blanche Farley each wrote a poem with two different scenarios that conveyed similar messages. In “The Road Not Taken” By Robert Frost and “The Lover Not Taken,” By Blanche Farley both poems use a similar tone when describing the journey that each of the speakers came across when they approached a fork in the road and had to make the uneasy decision of taking the road less traveled by. In “The Road Not Taken” By Robert Frost, The speaker is traveling in the woods when “two roads diverged in a yellow wood” (Frost, 1)) and he…
