Personal Narrative: The Injury Of My Father

As I grew up playing multiple sports, I was lucky enough to never have an injury. However, my dad experienced an injury common to most baseball players. He had a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder. It is a tear in the tissues that connect muscle to bone around the shoulder joint. His injury was due to inadequate warm-up before games over time. This injury restricted him from being able to work and coach. Before surgery, my dad had very limited mobility in his shoulder and could barely make a throwing motion. He took part in physical therapy and surgery from January of 2007 to April of 2008. The therapy he had before surgery was done at Marden Rehab in Woodsfield, Ohio and his post surgery therapy was completed at Mountain River Physical
