Personal Narrative: Personal Essay: My First Car

My first car was something that I greatly was looking forward to getting as a child and my interest in getting one grew, as the days got closer to my sixteenth birthday. The first car I owned was a Automatic Black 2004 Ford f-150 truck, which I discovered on a website called Craigslist. It was priced at five thousand nine hundred dollars with only eighty-four thousand miles on it, which in my case was great considering that I could only afford a seven thousand dollar car. The truck came with all manual locks and windows and also had a small amount of hail damage that could really only be seen at a certain angle. But a few months later after my trip to the mechanic my truck began to experience the same symptoms as the time before, but this time instead of my truck not shifting from second to third it wasn’t shifting from first to second. This scared me at first with me thinking that the mechanic did not fix what was actually broken and now it could possible there might be another expense to add to my truck. It turned out to be the same thing that happened last time and the only reason why the washer broke this time was because it had not been heat treated, which caused it to break once again. But since it was the same part of the truck was they worked on last time they were able to fix it for no extra expense due to their one-year warranty that they had. Almost one year later I had not had any additional problems with my truck and it was all smooth sailing from then on until one rainy day, I was turning out of a parking lot onto the main road and gassed it a little to hard and almost did a full three-sixty until I slammed into a curb which bent the axle on my truck and cost me close to two thousand dollars to fix. But luckily there wasn’t anyone else on the road and I was not hit by on coming
