It was May 18, 1980. I was on a helicopter making sure that their is no one on the volcano when it erupts. At 8:15 I was headed toward the North East side of Mount Saint Helens when the earthquake started. The ground looked like the waves from an ocean.
Suddenly I saw a group of people! I yelled “GET OFF THE VOLCANO, IT'S GOING TO ERUPT!!” even though I didn’t know when. Then BOOM! The volcano erupted as I saw the colossus pillar of ash and rocks. It smelt of sulfur and was moving at tremendous speeds. I couldn't tell if they were in the blast zone or not but I had to try and get them out.
As I got closer my heart immediately stopped when I realized that my younger brother was there!
