Personal Narrative: My Vision For America

Improved Essays
Visions are only unique as the individual themselves who make up this country. America is not the same as it was ten years ago. Who would have thought that we would have cell phones that were similar to a small computer in our pocket, a car that could talk back to us, or that we would have an African American president? Our visions for America could change everyday. My vision for America is very unique for my age group. We live in a free country. We live in a democracy that allows us to say almost anything we want, do almost anything we want, and believe in whatever we want (as long as these things do not harm or threaten other American citizens). Unfortunately, we tend to take that for granted. Americans have become very lazy. We work for others who are too lazy to work, and those people get more money than we do. Over 50% of Americans who are eligible to vote simply don’t because they are too lazy to spend about 15 minutes to vote. Imagine what would happen if every …show more content…
National Debt Clock, each person in the U.S., including newborn children, would have to pay $190,673 to pay off debt. Most teenagers don’t think of these things when we buy anything. We just spend money out of habit. The problem with that is, if we don’t start thinking about it, we will have another Great Depression. Even though my generation wasn’t the one to screw things up, we need to be the one to fix everything. We need to make people of America realize that if we don’t stop printing money, the value of our money will just keep dropping. Then, instead of having $2.00 for a coke at the store, we will have to have $5.00. Prices will go up, but the value of money will go down, causing us to have more money for less products. We think that money will always be around and the more money, the better. We think that if we keep printing money, it’s better for everybody. Unfortunately, that isn’t true and more Americans need to realize

Body crouched, holding on to a miniature blanket are the memories that cannot be eased from my head. Low temperature is a constant reminder of my harsh times as a homeless child with not a thing to loose, only an empty stomach behind. Thinking that crossing over would be the most difficult challenge of the “American Dream”. My parents did not come prepared for the far more challenges to come.…

On October 4th, the first and only vice presidential debate was scheduled to take place. Personally, I am not familiar with the role of the vice president other than to break ties in the senate. I didn’t have any idea what to expect from either of these candidates, other than to hear them defend the presidential candidates whom they will serve beneath. I predicted a stronger debate than the presidential debate and a win for the Democratic Party under Tim Kaine.…

While growing up I have always desired to me something different. When I was six, I wanted to be an entomologist, when I was nine, I wanted to be a pirate. However, I have always desired to be the president of the United States of America. When I was in elementary school the faculty in the front office even gave me the nickname, Mr. President. Unfortunately, with the way that time has affected american culture deterred me from wanting to be the president.…

In his speech entitled “A More Perfect Union,” Barack Obama asserts that while we may differ from one another, Americans also have some important things in common. For example, Obama states that “…we may have different stories, but we hold common hopes…” and that “…we may not look the same and we may not have come from the same place, but we all want to move in the same direction.” I agree with Obama’s claims because everyone wants to succeed in life. No matter how or where a person was raised, they always dreamed about a fantastic future. In addition, everyone wants to be able to get to a point in their life where they are completely satisfied with what they have.…

As a child I always thought the United States was a safe and healthy place. I believed the United States was safe because we have so much freedom than any other country. Also, believing it was a safe place and there was freedom, there would not be so much crime in the world. I also believed the United States was a healthy place to live in, because again I thought no other country is like ours and we were always the better one when it came down to everything. My experiences of believing the United States is safe and a healthy place is shattered.…

My Vision For America I feel America would be a better place if more money was granted for the development of better technology for the greater good, in all, a more advanced technology would allow for cheaper and more healthier foods, homes and other services. Better technology will open up hardly what seems a finite choice of new opportunities for safety, prosperity and the general wellfare of the environment. New technology can bring on, not just physical changes, but also of that of the human consciousness, with new ideas and intriguing philosophy to give people a new outlook of the world for change of the better, for simularities to oppose differences, for peace to victor over war and ultimately for Americans to help make the world a better place, not just for us, our country and our children, but for all of us. I see fit for conditions of the environment to be properly taken care of so that clean air, ground and water can be accessed to all. These projects of terraformation would add prodigiously to the overall state of Americans, sparking more cheerfull and stressless lives.…

There once was a man, his name was Martin Luther King, Jr., and he had a dream; this dream helped create the nation we live in today. I, however, have a vision; now, imagine the places that my vision could take us. America today has been built up from every individual before us, some contributing more than others. Some however, decide not to partake in the betterment of our country, encouraging our country to become hopeless and sordid. My vision for America is giant, bigger than you can imagine; and much larger than I can convey in an essay, but I will try my best.…

America. The land of the American Dream, where we tell ourselves anything is possible if you work hard enough. In the beginning it was achievable for the middle class, but as time went on, it lived up to its name and for the vast majority it did indeed become a dream. Living beyond one’s means became the norm and we became a nation of hustlers. This unmistakably is why we are where we are today, a nation with one of the lowest unemployment rates, and highest GDP per capita.…
