Improved Essays
1. My weekend was great we had no school Monday, and half day Friday. On the half day I want to U-Ridge. Which is a very nice golf course. In fact it is the UW Badgers home course. I went with my friend David we play nine holes of good golf. I shot 43 and David shot 39. On the last hole it started pouring rain and we got soaked! The rain came down so quick I had no time even to get my rain gear on! I finished that hole with a Birdie just in time because lightning struck right after. On saturday I stayed at at home till around 11 am then I went golfing with my cousin Brock it was super fun he sucks though! Later that night my dad and I went fishing he caught some huge large mouth while I caught an 30 inch Northern. The next morning (Sunday) I realized I got sunburned pretty bad! Sunday was a slow day for me since it hurt to move I was as red as a lobster. Monday stupidly I went onto the lake that did nothing for me it actually …show more content…
I have learned lots from my friend and family. This is pretty much how I have brought up. My grandpa is very wise man who went to MIT so I learned a lot from him obviously. He reads a book a day and and knows all about hunting and fishing. We have a cabin in Northern Wisconsin which is where I fish. I started fishing when I was 3 and didn’t know much about it but I kept on going out with my grandpa who is an avid fisherman. I have learned so much since that. Some things I have learned is what lures catch which fish. Another when of my favorite activities is hunting at my 300 acre farm. I have done so much hunting. And I have gotten so much more aware about hunting. I have shot 5 deer and 3 turkeys! I couldn’t have done this without him. What I liked about this writing is it reminded me of the good experiences I have had fishing and hunting with my grandpa. I wish I could have added at the end how thankful I am and how grateful I’m to get this wonderful opportunity. Without my grandpa I wouldn’t have got his wonderful tips and

Canada’s images throughout the years has changed and evolved into what it is today. A peacekeeping nation. But it wasn 't always known as that. Canada was a nation just like any other building and improving itself, but it wasn’t until the First World War that people started to notice Canada as its own country. Events from the First and Second World War and the Cold War have shaped Canada into what it is today.…

She was one of the girliest girls I knew since grade school, with her stylish culottes and pink garments of all different shades for all different occasions. She was the epitome of a mixture between pure innocence and quirk that boldly took her rightful place in the middle of my heart. Mary Anne wasn’t just all of that; she was also my affectionate girlfriend, my warm-hearted best friend who I could talk about anything with, from the most trivial things to the very meaning of our whole existence. At the time, all I could feel was the absolute joy that I got from spending my time with her. We had our entire happiness in the future planned out, a dream wedding and all, but maybe that was the reason why I wouldn’t have ever imagined that I would be feeling so lost and empty just a few years later, alone and missing a part of myself.…

It was a rainy morning in Seattle, and I wore my Army dress uniform. Stepping off the bus, I ran 100 yards to the entrance of the Airport. After I purchased my ticket and checked my bags, I headed to the bar. It was the time of the winter equinox, and I was headed home with my discharge in my duffle bag. I suppose I should have worn my civilian clothes, but I had been stateside six months, and the comradeship I experienced in Vietnam had yet to loosen its grip on me.…

It was nearing the end of the 5th grade and I started to realize that I wouldn't be going to the same middle school as all of my friends. The administrators came to our school to tell us about middle school and not one of my friends or people I knew said that they would get to Shadow Ridge. They all said that they would go to Rocky Top. I had one person say that they were going to Shadow Ridge. They were one of my best friends.…

The flight to Panama was long and bumping as I flew aboard a C-141, this aircraft is no longer in service. As I departed the aircraft, I was met by oppressive heat and humidity. As I looked around my new surroundings, I could not help but think that it looked as if someone had laid a giant green carpet over the landscape. It was definitely the most beautiful country that I had seen and, in my opinion it still is. The tarmac was busy with all kinds of activity going on.…

My time at Valley Forge was over, I had been fighting for general George Washington since the summer of 1775 and the victory on April 13 looked so far away because it was only late December, and it was seeming as if a turning point was unlikely. Do I stay and be loyal to my brothers or do I leave and never look back. I had to make my choice very soon, I could have left and the pain of seeing my brothers die , or I could stay and fight for my freedom such as many men had already done. The decision I made was to stay and fight for my country because many men had gotten sick, and I was a faithful servant to my country and I wanted to do what I came to the new world to do which was achieved my freedom .…

I believe I have learned as much out of school as I have in school on how to work with children. This comes for the two jobs that I have done during my time at UW-Oshkosh. The first job was a summer camp in Massachusetts called Greylock. During my time there, I was a camp counselor in a sleep over camp. I was in charge of a bunk of nine twelve year old boys.…

I woke up every morning in Iraq the same way. I would get up and I would get all my gear on. Today was different though, I woke up, and leaned over the side of my bed with a bad feeling in my stomach, I got up soon after. I laced up my boots, loaded my gun’s magazines, and then put my vest on. Then walked outside and the sun blinded me for a little bit.…

I am an American. I say it with the utmost pride and respect. Some citizens don’t stand when they hear, “The National Anthem” play, they don’t remove their hats, and sometimes they even talk over our song. They don’t feel great pride when they see The United States of America’s flag waving high in the air. Some Americans tend to think of being free, having personal rights, being allowed to speak up and many other rights as normal, but in other countries living in America and having the opportunities we have everyday is only a dream to them.…

Imagine going away from your family for 6 days in a completely different state. That’s what kind of position I was in. I didn’t want to go this church camp at all, and the only reason I was going was because I had friends coming with me. The bus ride there, I was saying to myself, “Why did I agree to come here”. Back then, I was shy because I would be worried if I messed up on something and the popular girls would make fun of me.…

Thanks the Texas Exes alumni, I was able to go to Camp Texas for free this year. At first I thought that it was like any normal 3- day camping trip, which made me extremely excited since I enjoy camping very much. Once I got there, I realized that it was a different type of camp. I was nervous and scared because I’m not very good at socializing. The reason I’m writing this is because I learned so much about being open minded, accepting, and kind to other people and new experiences.…
