Personal Narrative: My Trip To Dominican Republic

This summer I was very fortunate to go to Dominican Republic. Before this trip I haven’t visited Dominican Republic in over five years, so I was pretty eager to visit. When I first stepped out of the plane, I took in a breath. I feel that the air over there smells so different since many people over there burn their garbage, I actually like that smell. The streets in Dominican Republic are very bumpy and have a lot of motorists, so during my visit I did not hesitate to drive. The first few days that I spent in Dominican Republic was in my hometown Tamboril. In Tamboril my parents actually own a house that they built when they were newly married. The house is actually very spacious with two floors and four rooms in total. Every year my parents have been expanding it. Many houses in Tamboril are big and spacious but there are some people in Tamboril that aren’t fortunate. My mom and I sent out a box before our trip of cereal, soups, clothes, and daily products to give to those people. I remember seeing their faces, they were …show more content…
Every morning my neighbor would make my family mangu with fried salami and cheese. Mangu is basically smashed plantains with butter and cheese. Mangu is a very famous Dominican plate. For lunch I would have a plate called la bandera. The bandera plate included white rice, red beans, stir fried chicken and a green salad with avocados. My favorite part was the chicken. Over there in Dominican Republic they would actually kill the chicken that very morning. So you know that the chicken you ate that day was very fresh. At night my parents and I would go to this little street restaurant that told chimis. A chimi is a Dominican sandwich that is made out of salami, fried cheese, cole slaw, and a ketchup and mayo sauce. That little restaurant would be so packed we were would have to be waiting for like thirty minutes for them to even take our orders, but it was totally worth

This March, my family and I took a trip to Mexico for vacation. We did many fun things down there such as; parasailing, went on a boat for a day trip, sail boating, went swimming in the ocean, buggy board, sand volleyball, swam in the pool, walked the beach at night, got henna tattoos, a dread in our hair and went to the club with my brother and Emerson. The sand on my feet, the crashing of the waves, people swimming in the ocean, the smell of sunscreen and the wonderful taste of my flamingo drink; Mexico is my kind of place to be. But the first day in particular sticks out to me the most, the day we went parasailing and sail boating. Waking up in the morning in your soft hotel comforter, gives you a great feeling.…
