Personal Narrative: My Third Driver Test

Yufeng Wu, HUMI 1 (9:30 am) Personal Experiment Don’t believe everything you see and think. It’s really interesting that our brain may show something wrong to us, but we believe that what we see is correct. There are two things I did during last two weeks. I went to the DMV(department of motor vehicles) to take my third driver test. After thirty minutes, it was my turn to take the test. Suddenly, I felt nervous and my hand were sweaty because it is my third and last chance. Besides, I started to pray that there was a good traffic waiting for me so that I could pass the exam as smooth as possible. I let the road test examiner get in the car and start the test. Unfortunately, I failed the driving test in two minutes. It was a horrible experience that I may get involved in an accident. I felt unbelievable when I found out there really was a man over there. To be honest, I swore I didn't realize the passerby until the examiner told me. After that, the examiner asked me to drive back to the DMV and told me I need to take the written examination again. Otherwise, I can’t take the road test. When I was back home, I analyze the reasons I failed the road test. Obviously, feeling nervous could be one reason, and the most deadly reason was that I didn't stop while I saw a man crossing the street. However, I realized the reasons above are all superficial. The real issue is that I was too want to pass the road test to fail. Just like the old saying goes, "haste makes waste”. I wished there was no bad traffic when taking the road test, so my brain showed me wrong information. In
