Personal Narrative: My Sheep Farm Business

Improved Essays
Some people prefer their agriculture business to be based on crops while others prefer to take care of livestock as an alternate. The agriculture business that I chose to build and make profit from being a sheep farm. On this farm I am going to be raising Rambouillet sheep for their fine luscious wool. My sheep farm is going to be in Southwest part of Texas. This fine and lovely sheep farm is going to be called the Carver Farm.
The reason why I chose a sheep farm as my business is because I like animals and don’t find craps all that appealing. Sheep wool is a very common needed thing and can bring some decent profit. Rambouillet sheep is known for their soft, fine wool in the textile industry. Their wool is used for clothing articles that is close to the skin, baby clothes and women’s high quality dress wear. Since it is recommended to only have five to six sheep’s per acre, I will have about twenty to twenty - five acres of land for the sheep to roam. On this land I will own roughly around

My biggest competition is going to be the other sheep farms around where my farm is located. Other similar business that might affect me or be my competition is alpaca farms. Both of these businesses or farms will hurt in that they both sell wool. I would have to compete to make my wool more appealing than those of surrounding areas. It will hurt my business profits if my fine wool is not what buyers are looking for or if sheep wool is not in the market. Having alpaca farms can also affect me in that if alpaca wool is cheaper and it fits the buyers wants than I will lose profit. Other farms can hurt my business in the same way that they can help me. These other farm wool can have different properties than mine, which makes my wool more appealing than my competition. The buyers could be looking for softer and finer than wool than those of my competition if the other farms have thicker

Factory farming is heavily prevalent in todays society. Most nearly all of the meat and by products of animals come from animals raised in factories, robbing them of living and fulfilling a full life. I one hundred percent agree with Blake Hurst that “only ‘industrial farming’ of meat can possibly see the demand for an increasing population and increased demand for food as a result of growing incomes”. The world today is growing at a way too rapid pace for natural production of animals. The days of animals happily roaming around Grandma’s farm are over.…

The reason fast food blew up is because of inexpensive food, cheap help, and replaceable employees.
