Personal Narrative: My Pipell

b’s, d’s, p’s, and 9’s are all the same. It has been that way for as long as I can remember. I have always had difficulty spelling and reading. No one told me why, and with my sister, who could read the word pharmacy at the age of 3, I felt like a failure. I would spend an hour reading something my sister read in 15 minutes. My mother would try to encourage me by saying, “You are so incredibly smart, Anyssa.”, but all it did was make me ask questions. If I'm so smart… Why can't I read fast? Why can’t I find the words I want to say? Why can’t I spell? The day before my next spelling test in 4th grade. They told me to rewrite the words when you study. So that is what i did.
