My Personal Victory
At Six Flags at Vallejo, CA

Six Flags always make me excited because there are plenty of stuff to enjoy with, such as Ark, Boardwalk Bumper Buggies, Boomerang Coast to Coaster, Hammerhead Shark, Medusa, Monkey Business, Monsoon Falls, Road Runner Express, Rock Wall Climbing Challenge, Superman Ultimate Flight, Sky Screamer, Thunder Road Speedway Go-Karts, V2: Vertical Velocity, Wave Swinger, and White Water Safari. I love all these rides, but there is one ride that makes me excited that it is the Boomerang Coast to Coaster. It is very scary. It is a challenge. It is marvelous. Last year, I went to Vallejo, CA for the purpose of Six Flags six times, such as the first week of September 2015, the third week of September 2015, the fourth week of September 2015, the second week of October 2015, the fourth week of October 2015, and the first week of November 2015. It was a lot, and it made my father nervous because he spent a lot of money every visit. My

Because of lacking encouragement, I began to force my father to ride on the Boomerang Coast to Coaster with me. But, he refused whenever I asked him for because he had an excuse, which was he is over 40, and he did not want to risk his health, for example, having a heart attack during the ride. He was afraid of riding on it because he feared to have any health situation during riding on it. But, I forced him to ride on with me whenever we went to the Six Flags. Whenever he refused, I got angry with him because I wondered about feeling when riding on the Boomerang Coast to Coaster. Initially, I hoped that my father was a brave man and he would have ridden on it with me at the first visit, which was on the first week of September 2015, but he denied, and then I tried again on the third week of September 2015, and he refused again.

I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…

My friend, Odina, was laughing beside me the whole time; she did not know how worried and anxious I was about this devastating rollercoaster. It is called the Iron Rattler, and it stood at a height of one hundred-eighty feet tall. The other passengers were energized with excitement, anxiety, and fear. I felt uncomfortable getting on the rollercoaster because I thought I was going to die. I thought maybe the rollercoaster would fall…

I can't even remember my first time there. We used to go every summer, but we haven't gone in awhile. At my old school we would do these reading pages and if you read a certain amount of pages you got a ticket to six flags. Since my mom worked at the school she got either 1 or 2 free tickets. So my whole family would get into the park for free.…

The ride had begun and we began rising towards the sky in a curve way form with my back printed up against the park giving me the view to only see the ride itself until we reached the top. I got to see the park and the beautiful day and before I couldn’t even breathe another gasp of air before I was twisting and turning intensively. The ride lasted about thirty seconds but, those thirty seconds really were phenomenal. Soon after exiting the ride a huge storm started to brew out of nowhere bringing rain and thunder causing the park to shut down for safety reasons. I was bummed out for a few moments as I walked to the front of the park to reunite with my family when my sister comes towards me and utters "Hey Josh, you know we got season passes right"?…

My parents and other family members have always supported me in whatever activities I have wished to explore, and I have always tried to use my opportunities to their full extent. It is not something new or profound for a parent to wish the best for their child; yet, I have always felt that there were always other underlying reasons for my father wanting me to do certain activities. Phrases such as “I always wanted to try this when I was your age” were commonly said, yet, I never truly thought too deeply into them. One day, amidst a casual car ride, I…
