Personal Narrative: My Personal Growth As A Writer

I write this correspondence as a means to convey my feelings regarding the matter of my personal growth as a writer. My goals, though simple in nature, were mainly to finish the required writing on time and with great haste. I think I may have successfully managed that much and even more gained an enhanced understanding a rhetoric. Mostly with the earlier assignments of weekly writing was where I felt I tried much harder to write something I was proud of. To accomplish my goal of writing the essays I quickly read the prompt assigned and got to work fast. As the time came nearer to its end I took the time to read over and make necessary adjustments and if there were any loose ends to conclude the essay by calling back to them. In choosing the one to revise I remember thinking back to the Ballou essay and how even when I finished writing it how much I had wanted to improve it. There was a new idea I had for the essay which revolved less on the love aspect of the letter and more on how the letter is significant to people of today which I found to be a much more interesting take on the prompt. The strengths of the new essay is foremost that it is much better written than the original and it sounds less repetitive than the first which only focused on the topic of love. Areas of improvement could definitely be a lengthening of ideas and examples to better construct the argument. I had to limit the amount of things I added because it became a bit too lengthy. Overall each essay seemed to have the same fault of not really being clear with why the examples to the point of the thesis and having a thesis that was a little to vague and needed to be much more specific.
