It was a big challenge for me, two years ago, when I finally realized that the opportunity to leave Nigeria, and move to the United States was real. I was not really enthusiastic about leaving everyone I have loved for the first sixteen years of my life, most especially my grandparents, for me to finally reside with my parents. On the other hand, I was jubilant because it was a chance for me to have a better education, meet new people, learn from somebody who thinks differently from me, and also get to share my ideas with the kind of people who never had the chance to live the kind of life I have lived in the past. …show more content…
I have always enjoyed playing soccer for fun as a little boy, but never thought I could play in a serious team, and contest for a trophy. I was so proud of myself when we won the league champion. Sometimes, I have thought education was not crucial until when my parents made me know it's the best they can offer me. My parent’s criticism over my first GPA as 2.8 was an encouragement to make me stronger to improve on my academics. Making it to the Principal’s Honor Roll with 4.38 was my biggest achievement, it was an opportunity for me to believe more in
