My Work. A tale of my focusness It all started in broken arrow oklahoma, (where I used to live,) It was a huge house with big windows and a huge living room, I cherished that house. Ordinarily at that time I had my eyes focused on one particular item, Mirror's Edge. Mirror's edge was a video game that I've desired for, for so long! I scrutinized every preview, listened to numerous videos on it,even attended live podcasts through the internet, I practically knew everything about it. So ordinarily I asked my mom if it was okay if she could purchase it for me sometime, she didn't say yes, but she didn't say no either, that's what I Figured she would say, but …show more content…

I waited and waited but still I got nothing, it was already thanksgiving and I recited in october, where was the game I’ve been waiting for? It was the day after thanksgiving and I still had nothing to look forward too, knowing my game was not present. I sat on the couch with my eyes
Glued to the screen as I watched youtube, my mom left the house to go to target for some reason but I didn’t know why, I had a sudden thought that she might be picking up my game but that was a stupid idea, the door knocked and I ran to go open it for my mom she had a smile on her face as she walked in, she told me to go and open the bag and so I did. There it was, in its glory,

As I mentioned in the previous assignment, I want to increase my baseline 500 steps each week so that by the end of the semester I am recording 10,000 steps which is in the active range. I will continue walking around the property at work and stepping in place whenever I possibly can. I will stick to walking to the mailbox which is two blocks from home as opposed to driving up to it on my way home. If I have days where I am tired I will just give myself another pep talk. I have a pretty good support system thus far so I will lean on them if pushing myself on my own does not cut it.…

I felt like I needed to be the one to break the cycle of depression, I felt like the author of “The Mirror” in a way. In “The Mirror,” Loretta Stewart states “Today, I’m glad I broke the mirror. It’s symbolic of my desire to break the cycle of failure in my family.” In my instance it wasn’t really a thing that had been going on for decades like in “The Mirror,” but it was still a cycle and I felt like if I didn’t take that step and try to break the cycle that it would just continue.…

It all started at breakfast on one monday snowy monday morning. My brother Riley slid a piece of paper across the counter to me and said, “check this out!”. I glanced down to see that he had torn an ad out of a Wal-Mart magazine, an ad for the brand new gaming system the Xbox One. It was Easter Sunday 2008. My mom and dad had just recently divorced, and me, well I, was greeted with a warm welcome to the world of angst. As an almost eight year old and as a kid with a handful of friends, video games were my escape, my retreat from the rest of the cold, dark and vicious world (It would remain as my escape until I was about fifteen or so). The next year and half would be one of the most difficult durations of my life and throughout it, nothing compares to the sheer pain I felt during this span of time. My two favorite people in the entire world, my heroes, my idols; now separated, forever.…
