Are you free tomorrow? “ Yamasaki Umi hollered at me throughout the class just before I left, “ Oh, I guess so? “ I nervously replied. Umi has been my classmate and my childhood friend since I was 5 years old, and I practically know almost everything about her. What she hates, what she likes, what type of food she is able to eat and much more. Umi had been my first love in secondary school and she would hardly talk or even ask me out on a date, so after hearing such request from her would be kinda rare or even impossible to happen. Thus, her request had taken me aback.

Curiously, I hurried towards the dark alley which light post had seemed to have been spoiled and was still under repairs. Expecting some gangsters to be bullying someone as usual but it was totally different from what I had expected. A teenage girl which seems to be around my age wearing her school uniform was backed into a corner while a teenage boy who seems to be just a few years older than her was holding a knife and was emitting a menacing aura around him. Thus I went towards her and asked her if she was alright, she thanks me profusely and introduce to me that she was Shimizu Runa and was from a nearby school. She was the same age as me and said that I should watch out for him and avoid him as much as possible as he might be dangerous. What I didn't know is that he suits the description on the news which I unseemingly always watched, going by the alias of The Dark Phantom. Due to the jet black jacket, he would always wear and the quiet footsteps of just the

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…
