Personal Narrative: My Father's Death

Your husband is still alive. I read the note I found on my desk over and over again.

Was this some sort of prank? My husband had been dead for two years. I saw him die right in front of me. He was hit by a car while saving me. I was there when the doctors pronounced him dead. The tragic moment came vividly to my mind. I was crossing the street, when, all of a sudden, he pushed me out of the way. I escaped with a twisted ankle, he, on the other hand, didn’t escape escape at all. If only I had looked both ways before I crossed the street, then maybe the he would still be alive.

I turned the note around and saw that something else had been written: Come to Tip Top Diner at 6pm. I went to that diner often. This person had obviously been watching

I understood the blatant shock on his face. I always drank and ate there alone every Wednesday at seven on the dot.

Within 5 minutes of my arrival, a blonde haired man wearing a black t-shirt with jeans walked in and stared right at me. I loudly cleared my throat. When his crystal blue eyes refused to stop staring, I began the conversation.

"Didn't your mom ever teach you it's rude to stare? May I help you?" I asked him, ready to take him out at any moment. I hadn't taken 18 years of Shito-ryu karate for nothing.

"Mrs. Sylvia Rose, what a pleasure it is for us to finally meet." The blue eyed man reached out his hand for me to shake while he walked over to my table, but I didn't bother to. He then sat down across from me.

"Cut to the chase. Who are you and how do you know all of these things about me?" I said viciously. He stared me down for a couple of seconds as if to scare me, but I wouldn't cop out.

"Is this staring contest going to go on all day or are you going to tell me?" I said annoyed.

"Of all the time you spent with your husband, was there anything peculiar about him? Odd? Something..inhumane?"

"No." I responded. "Nothing at all."

"He must have morphed your

Maybe, it would help me get some information.

"Why are you telling me this?"

His devious smirk would have knocked any other girl out. "I'm going to use you to capture him."

"Who are you?" I would give him one more chance to answer my questions.

Again, he took out his hand for me to shake, "I'm Chase, the vampire hunter."

At that moment, I got up from the booth. I was sick and tired of this crazy prank. He tried to grab my wrist, but I avoided it. He was now following me out of the building. I sprinted down the road and into an alleyway. Unluckily, I had decided to walk to the diner, instead of driving my car. All of a sudden, a woman, appeared from behind a corner.

“Chase let you get away, huh? I’d like to see you try and get away from me.” She said.

Okay, If these people wanted a fight, then I would give it to them. Chase was still running to catch up to me as I attempted to kick the girl in the stomach. She dodged as I realized she was holding a syringe.

"I'm going to enjoy this." She said.

Not willing to risk getting shot with the syringe while fighting, I screamed and began running the other way.

"Help!" I yelled. Out of no where, Jack

The Cheesecake Factory, I once believed that the establishment would be a bakery that primarily sold cheesecakes, sweets and such. Although, I’ve never heard much about the restaurant, or what it actually was other than people are familiar with the establishment and only comment on the cheesecakes. Yet, I had not known that that was the place I was dining in, I only believed under the presumption of its name that we were going to eat at some other random place when I walked through the doors of the restaurant. Now, the reason I say random was the fact that this place was not like how I imagined the praiseworthy Cheesecake Factory to be at all. My expectations of this place was exactly how Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory felt and as colorful…

It’s been exactly six days, twelve hours, forty-seven minutes, three-thirty seconds and counting since the last time me and Tre went out together. Or something like that; I haven’t really been keeping up with the time, so maybe I’m off by an hour. Or ten. Anyway, it’s been almost a week since we went to the haunted house and technically I wouldn’t even consider that a date because we were supposed to meet up with a group of friends.…
