Personal Narrative: My Experience Of Moving To The United States

I have faced many hard circumstances during my lifetime. I was born in India where education was expensive and my dad was concerned about it. Luckily I found out that we were moving to the United States. My family was really excited when they heard the news and my dad told me that this is the opportunity to make your dream come true. My family members that called us lived in New Jersey. I was in third grade when I move to U.S. When I went to elementary school for the first time in U.S. everything was different. The culture, the language and the way of living were different in the U.S. At first I didn't like it because I had no friends and I couldn't make friends because I didn't know English. Then after 4 years, I moved back to the North in Pennsylvania, where I am now. I wasn't worried about moving because I knew there were lots of Indians in my city. As time went on, I became comfortable with the new school. My friends and I decided to join clubs that would make our transcripts look good. My friend and I got a letter about National Honor Society and how I had to maintain an average of 93. Another club that I am part time is Penn Serve, this is a volunteering club and is well known in the community, we plant, volunteer for marathon, and participate in other activities. Also I participated in out of school service with helping out our religious organization. I have been going to the temple when I moved and I serve food, help elders, and overall keep the temple clean. During my junior year in High School, I took the first ever new SAT in March. I was very concerned about the grades I would get because it would define my career. I studied hard and got a decent score in my SAT.
