I have always been independent, but I fully seeked independence when I was 16 years old. This was the year of 2016, and this was the year that my life changed; I was forced to grow up and learn how to be more independent. The first step to my seeking of independence was turning 16 years old and getting my driver’s license. This meant I was finally able to go out on my own and not rely on others to take me places anymore. In the year of 2016, I also began taking classes at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute to earn college credits.…
My name is Michael Nguyen. My major is Accounting. I am taking this class in order to fulfill my GE requirement. My homeschool is Cypress College. I am a full-time student and full-time worker at the same time.…
My experience at Balfour Collegiate in Regina, Saskatchewan began much like others. In grade nine I wanted nothing more but to be accepted. I was sincerely lucky in the case that Balfour was one of the smaller schools in Regina, so within time I found my place. How I found my place was involving myself. At the grade nine open house almost every other student stressed, “Get involved!…
Searching for the educational institute or the college that is right for me is one of the most important decisions in my life. It was a stressful experience, took a lot of time and work, but it was not difficult. College is not just a place preparing me to a specific career; it is place that will convert me to another cultured respectful person. Therefore, I decided to choose a very appropriate college for me, it is Bunker Hill community college, because it is in educational hub city, have my favorite major and have a great teaching staff. Bunker Hill community college is located in the greater Boston “the heart of education”, and this is gave the college the enough brilliant reputation that can give me hopeful career future, and this is true…
My past educational experience that prepared me to become expose to the community started when I was admitted into Stanly Early College. I became more involved with the community by volunteering in community services, becoming the secretary for student council, becoming a member of Stanly County’s Leadership Youth program, and coordinating a fun run. This learning stretch experience helped me to become responsible when handling funding, managing my time wisely with planning and using my leadership skills as I became the secretary for student council. With the amount of success that I have obtained through high school, I was rewarded by becoming the superintendent's student of the year for Stanly Early College. These important character traits…
Over the summer and part of the spring I made a slow transition to move to Incline. I was only nervous about making friends because I didn’t know if they would like me. The first time I met all of the girls in my grade was at the 6th grade orientation. I was still going to school in Truckee when I went to the orientation my school was having their 6th grade orientation as the Incline Middle School was having theirs. I never wanted to move when I first heard that we were going to then about a month later I was a little bit more ok with it.…
The semester before my freshman year I applied to an early college high school; I knew that I was going to have more work than if I had went to the traditional high school, but I knew I could do it. At first I was doing well, but as time went on the work became more challenging and frequent eventually my grades fell and took my pride with it. I wanted to transfer to the traditional high school in my neighborhood, but changed my mind after a talk with one of my professors. She helped me to recognize that if I quit not only would I be throwing away the work that I did do, but I’d also be preventing myself from seeing what work I could do. I took that seed of information and turned it into a tree of motivation.…
In 2006, I began my journey at The Valley School as a first grade student. Moving over from my previous school, which I had attended from the time I was three until I was six years old, was fairly smooth. I had friends who made the switch with me and, being the social butterfly I was, making new friends was a breeze. In the first few years as a student, I saw Valley move into three buildings.…
My life changed the year of 2013. An unforgettable experience I had was when I left the only school I´d ever been to. All of my friends were at Conway Christian School, I didn't want to leave, but my older brother did. I left when I finished fifth grade. One of my brothers stayed at CCS (Conway Christian School) and the other, with me, went to public school.…
This year has been a crazy one. I came from a public school, not knowing anyone, so I terrified and didn't know what to expect. I struggled with trusting others, time management and battling multiple tasks at once. Luckily, I had a lot of practice throughout the year. For instance when we had to record a News Show for Mr.Mora's class, I was faced with all of these problems.…
“Yo Bobby let’s head to the court” Ben shouted i agreed because i didn’t have anything else to do. As we were walking i was just thinking about everything that was going on in school and how i need to do better. I kept thinking over and over we only have one week left just finish it. Ben and everyone else around me was excited about everything i was too i just had a lot of work to do it was exhausting. Walking down the streets of Atlanta big city where you see everyone doing their own thing.…
Throughout my high school career, I was able to just sit in class, takes notes, and pass with barely trying. I was always in advanced classes and succeeded at every one of them. The ease of getting those good grades led me into joining the PSEO/CCP program through Kent State University Ashtabula. This was the first time in my life that I was intellectually challenged and it sure did shape my future and my decision to go to John Carroll University.…
I was afraid to sharpen a pencil in second grade. My most vivid elementary school memories spring from instances when I was being reprimanded by an adult for doing something wrong. I did everything in my power to avoid those dreadful moments, but they still presented themselves on occasion. Even now I feel a pit in my stomach when I recall the way I felt during those times, regardless of the fact that almost all of them would easily roll off my back if they occurred today.…
I am considering Kirkwood Community College because of the openness and availability at the school. After talking to Nick, the choice to come to Kirkwood became more clear. Going on the visit really influenced my choice because of how well my day was spent there. Right as I walked in, there was student ambassadors welcoming me and I thought that was very polite.…
Boglo.session1.journal Throughout my life I have experienced many life events that could possibly impact my experience as a student at Colorado Christian University. However, I have narrowed it down to two defining milestone which are linked: The death of my father, and moving to America. I was born and raised in West Africa, Ivory Coast, and by the time I turned six years old my parents were already separated. My mother moved to the United States leaving my father as a single parent raising three daughters. At age 11 my father’s life was taken due to heart failure which left my sisters and I under the care of my mother’s sister.…
