Huge, looming rockets, each one paving the way to landing on the moon, and higher. Aall gathered into one place. - The Kennedy Space Center. It was very bright out. And very hot. Even with the air conditioning in the white van, we all were still sweating. That’s because we were in Cape Canaveral, Florida, where it’s a little hotter than South Dakota. But that didn’t bother me too much. Bbecause, I was super hyped to go see the space center. I was so excited, I could hardly stand still. Finally, after an eternity of hills and toll booths, we arrived. At the sign. We had a little more road to travel before we actually got to the parking lot. After extra waiting we finally parked. We hopped out of the car, and the first thing anyone would notice was the giant orange rocket tank for the space shuttle. It was so huge, that even the big palm trees couldn’t cover it up, even from a distance.

But then, the screen slid up. The shuttle was actually there! I was one of the first ones in the room, where all eyes were drawn to the Space Shuttle, Atlantis, suspended from the ceiling. The scorch marks from re-entry, on the nose. It was at an angle, so you could see the black tile on the bottom, and the landing gear. If you went to the other side, There was a huge engine, so big that if you talked into it, it would echo, and I could stand inside, straight up. There was a space walk game, and a big shuttle simulator that shook you around, tilted you back and forth, and then showed you the stars from the cargo bay doors. And nearby, a huge slide that took you from one floor to the other, simulating the descent of the shuttle. There were other things too, but they aren’t as
