It took me almost no deliberation for me to determine that I would major in Creative Writing in college. I've known that I wanted to be a writer since 8th grade. Whenever I tell people my desired area of study, however, I invariably receive a response similar to, "What on earth are you going to do with a Liberal Arts degree? How are you going to make any money as a writer?" It's true that writing is only a lucrative field for a select few, and it's also true that writers are paid less and less in the digital age. Although this scares me, it far from discourages me. In fact, it motivates me to write more and become the best writer I can be so that I can make a career out of my major.
