Summarise why you prescribed the exercises you did & intensities/frequencies etc (use your needs assessment & 8 ACSM guidelines to support your choices)

I have prescribed the exercises I have in order for my client to meet her goals in improving her lower and upper strength and for such improvements to be reflected in various tests (grip strength and single leg wall sit). Thus my program entails exercises that are resistance based to build muscle strength overall. I have also prescribed a series of stretches in order to improve my client’s flexibility which is another goal of her (improve in sit and reach test). Such stretches will be performed post aerobic cool down to make sure my client is at the right body temperature that is safe to perform

I have also chosen to include exercises that target the major muscle groups of the chest, shoulders, back, legs, trunk, and arms which is furthermore recommended. I have also prescribed exercises to prevent muscular imbalances, as the ACSM guidelines indicate the importance of training opposing muscle groups (antagonists), such as the quadriceps and hamstrings to prevent …show more content…
This is reflective in my program as each routine begins with legs, arms, and abs, then to stretches and breathing exercises. This succession of exercises is also based on the recommendations from the ACSM to perform high intensity exercises before low intensity

Studying the human body is an intimate academic exercise – my fingers move in response to messages sent through my nervous system and words appear on the page. Either side of the divide - the neuromuscular junction In order for motor neurons to communicate with the skeletal muscle fibres of my fingers, a synapse is formed between them, known as a neuromuscular junction. The neural and muscular sides of the NMJ have different roles to play. The motor neuron’s axon terminal, along which nerve impulses travel, ends in a series of synaptic end bulbs, full of synaptic vesicles, floating in cytosol.…

The warm up was a little light and slightly rushed, there could have been a faster set up to the warm-up drills once all athletes arrived. I don’t feel there was an effective aerobic portion to fully get athletes ready. There was some light running followed by a short plyometric routine. The game was started shortly after this; I don’t think the athletes were fully ready to play hard entering the first point. There could have been a more structured warm-up especially leading into a pretty serious game.…

My personal beliefs are that you are coming to therapy because you want to get better or maintain the function that you are at risk of losing. I hope that everyone that is coming to clinic wants to come and will be willing to participate in the clinic. I believe there is always something more a person can do, by doing an extra rep or doing a work out a second time a day. Over a period of time doing a bit extra every day will eventually heal you and possibly prevent some people from returning to physical therapy. This belief of doing a bit extra every day may have a conflict with some because they get busy, do not want to do it, or forget how to complete the task.…
