I have prescribed the exercises I have in order for my client to meet her goals in improving her lower and upper strength and for such improvements to be reflected in various tests (grip strength and single leg wall sit). Thus my program entails exercises that are resistance based to build muscle strength overall. I have also prescribed a series of stretches in order to improve my client’s flexibility which is another goal of her (improve in sit and reach test). I have also chosen to include exercises that target the major muscle groups of the chest, shoulders, back, legs, trunk, and arms which is furthermore recommended. It is also noted by the ACSM that single-joint exercises, (to be performed after multipoint exercises) for the abdominals, lumbar extensors, calf muscles, hamstrings, quadriceps, and biceps are of importance in resistance training and therefore are included in my client’s program. This is reflective in my program as each routine begins with legs, arms, and abs, then to stretches and breathing exercises. This succession of exercises is also based on the recommendations from the ACSM to perform high intensity exercises before low intensity
