We dream because of trauma because you can revise our traumatizing moment and be more prepared for the next time it happens (Turner). For example, if your fish dies you will probably dream about it that night and be more prepared for when another one of your fish dies. Dreaming may be to help us deal with stressful situations. Humans go through stressful situations almost every day so when someone goes to sleep their brain reflects on their past emotions that made them stress (Dell’Amore). A scientist at UC Berkeley recently did an experiment on emotions and stress from sleeping they said, “‘ There's already anecdotal evidence for sleep's therapeutic benefits—such as the oft-repeated adage that a person will go to bed and feel better in the morning,’ Walker said.”(Walker, National Geographic). The scientists conducted an experiment on how people felt after seeing pictures and if they slept or not. Christine Dell’Amore stated, “When people experience an emotional event, stress chemicals are released to flag and prioritize that event, essentially reminding the brain to work through it during sleep, according to Walker, whose study appeared November 23 in the journal Current Biology.”(Christine Dell’Amore, National Geographic). This clearly shows that stress is a major reason we dream to deal with stress. Dreaming is quite surprising for its healthy benefits and therapeutic benefits if you're not stressed you will feel better and work harder. So dreaming is really helping your body to deal with stressful situations to make you feel
