I managed to somehow hit the gas pedal so hard that I actually thought it went through the floor of my car and hit the gravel road. I could hear the roar of my engine as the pistons worked back and forth at a rate of seven thousand revolutions per minute. My back tires lost traction for a split second, or maybe two, and made a terribly loud screeching sound. The terrible smell of burnt rubber filled the air surrounding my car. My tires soon regained traction and my car jumped into first place, beating my opponent off the line, but that didn't mean I had won. When I glanced in my rear view mirror I noticed that my opponent wasn’t about to give up and wasn't too far behind. When my speedometer hit 30 mph I placed my car in second gear. My stick was vibrating so much at this point it was as if the 345 horsepower shot up, traveling up the stick and through my body and out the other hand back into the steering wheel. As my car traveled another hundred feet, I noticed that my opponent slowed down very quickly, almost as if he slammed on the brake. Now for whatever reason he slammed on his breaks, it definitely wasn’t good. Two thoughts immediately came racing into my head: his car might have overheated, which was highly unlikely, or there was a cop shooting radar ahead and I just didn’t see it in time and was probably about to be busted. Now that seemed more likely and boy it was so true. The best part was that it wasn't a normal cop, but instead a state trooper. I think I broke the brake pedal due to the fact that I slammed so suddenly on the brake trying to slow down as fast as possible, but the piggy got me.
