No, I haven’t supervised but I was “once” a marginal and at risk clinician before during my first semester of graduate school. It wasn’t at the severe stage, but I needed a couple remediation’s to meet ASHA standards to move forward with the curriculum program. Dowling (2001) states that the following strategies are likely to be helpful: joint planning sessions, role-playing specific skills or procedures, planning demonstration therapy, structuring observations, and videotaping/audio taping, providing selected verbatim transcripts. The strategies and techniques mentioned above helped and shaped me who I am today as being the best clinician I can be.
