In a stuffy overcrowded police station of the once quiet town of Littleton, Colorado. A place that was never host to any real commotion until the day of April 20,1999 where two shooters opened fire in the local high school. The press rushing Captain Stephens with questions of how Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold got their firearms. NBC News Reporter, to the captain: Captain Stephens! Captain!…
Ms. Schomers arrived at The Gunnery as a first year teacher just a little over a month ago. In that period, however she has already started to make a difference among her students, rowers and even other faculty members. As describe by Mr. Miller, Gunnery´s head of academics, “She is extremely passionate”. You only need one conversation with her to understand how big her passion for teaching, for coaching and simply for life is. Ms. Schemers has already started to make a mark in the lives of her students.…
The Thrill in the Kill…….And What it Does After Elham I. 8-1 I’m a deadbeat. There is no way to sugarcoat it (and frankly, I don’t want to). Being as profound and logical as I am, I decided to do something aside from my part-job at a convenience store: rob a bank. I probably would have gotten myself killed, but hey, no more having to reject minors for alcohol, right?…
I am fortunate enough to have just moved into a decent size house with a garage. The garage also came with some work benches already installed. The work benches are a little beaten up but they are sturdy enough for the work I need them for and with a few alterations they should be a good start for my gunsmithing work. Since my first projects I have planned out will be on my own firearms I will be able to use my garage to park my vehicles in and use it for my wood working as well. If I decide to start working on other people’s guns as well I have an extra room that I can set aside for my gunsmithing work only.…
The night sky was black with grey clouds, the wind was howling. I could sense some fear in a old womens farm. As my friends and I were hiding in the to old barn behind where they put the horses in. The sense of fear grew stronger and stronger as I scratched my paws against the warped barn doors. The others creeped slowly coming from the north to the front porched tried ripping the sod, so they could get into the house.…
The first person that comes to mind the moment I hear lifesaver is my brother. He comes to mind because he had a major impact in my life. Ever since we were little we were only four years apart so that meant we were always play fight when we had the chance. When we got older he stayed with the coach where we were at before south Carolina for his football career. Because of that I work so I can be better than him.…
“Call 911!” I heard my aunt yell. Those days, July 31 through August 2, 2014, were interesting days. My laws of life were shown. They are faith, and patience.…
When the time came and I was old enough my uncle took me shooting. This is what started my interest in the outdoors. After we were done shooting he told me one of the biggest surprises of my life. My uncle told me that he was going to take me hunting. When he told me this I was the most excited kid in Arkansas.…
As I brainstormed about things that I carry, nothing stood out. Not a single prized-possession, no metaphoric symbols, no family heirlooms, not even an everyday object that I could somehow pull a deeper meaning out of came to mind. I had no words to describe what I carry, nothing at all. And I then realized that I couldn’t have described it any better. I carry nothing.…
When I was young I wanted a 4 wheeler for Christmas. I wanted a Artic Cat for christmas I wanted a red and black Arctic Cat and I wanted it to be Jacked up. When I told my dad this he said no son that would be too expensive. Then when I woke up for christmas I got some xbox 360 games for my xbox 360.…
What would the typical American do at a gun point robbery? It was pass 7pm and the sun was dripping behind the hills, and the clouds were red like a pink lady apple. I heard the sound of the cars pass at super speeds right as I pulled to a gas station. I had to stop to get pain reliefs, due to my low tolerance for shoots from vaccines that were required for college. The pain that I was feeling before the gas station was certainly not worth the next 10 minutes that determine my future.…
Gunshots woke me up. What seemed to be an enlightening day, turned out quite the opposite. Just the day before, our burglar alarm's siren echoed throughout the house at 4 a.m. My dad rushed downstairs to determine if our house had been broken into; the back door was slightly open, but nobody else was in the house. Surprisingly, on the next day, my neighbor's house had been hit with a multitude of bullets around midnight.…
Immediately, 4 other men jumped out and pointed their gun at me. My eyes widen, I was outnumbered and Ken never taught me how to shoot a gun. I smiled to myself, I guess this is it. “TAMURA, DUCK, NANODAYO!” I dropped to the ground as the 4 men were shot at their legs and fell to the ground.…
Today I met with my mentor and I learned how to properly grip a gun and how to hold it. I learned how to stand while holding the gun. It's a very awkward stance and after a while your arms get tired and we would take a break when I got tired because my mentor said “being tired creates bad habits.” You have to stand with your feet about shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent, arms straight and level with your eyes, and chin slightly stuck out that when you look down you can see you toes. We started out with a fake gun that is connected to a computer system with targets that you shoot at and it tells you your accuracy and how quick you react.…
I’m driving my pickup to the munitions store. Its seems like any typical Tuesday; however, today is eminently gloomy and dull outside which gives me a strange, ominous feeling. I arrive at the store hoping I am able to restore my 12-gauge I bought here a couple months ago. As I’m searching for the tools that would help patch up my gun and settle my problem, I notice a young man in the store just browsing around, and not seeming to obtain any previous experience with firearms. Even Though I am not a worker, I’m curious to see what he could possibly be looking for in here.…
