I watched her pause as she saw my face.
“You have to go don’t you? Back over there?”
She watched my facial expressions change over the course of one minute.
“I got the call.” Her face seemed to darken as I said it. I had to go. There was no way around it.

“Same old.” I let out a chuckle as Sergeant told us it was time to board. I got on the plane and suddenly I felt this rush of adrenaline that made me want to go at that moment. We still had to learn about the controls that had been added to the Mustang fighter. It took 30 minutes to learn but by 6 in the morning, it was time.
“Ready, Andersen? It's go time.”
I smiled and nodded as we headed closer to the end of the runway. Speeding up the closer we got until I lifted and we were in the air. It felt amazing to fly again.
