Worlds isn’t just hip-hop, there is jazz, pom, contemporary, ballet, and tap. We are the first team to compete of the day, and there our 85 teams in our division. It’s the biggest division of the competition. Being the first team to go could be a very bad thing, or a very good thing. We could set the standards high, or we will get smashed on by 84 other teams. As we prepare to take the Worlds stage, we huddle up and say a quick prayer. My heart is beating a thousand miles per hour, and I’m starting to sweat. We have finally made it to what we have been working for all season; its time to show the judges who we are. All of a sudden I hear, “and now taking the floor, in the large open coed hip-hip division, Supa Novas!” and my heart fell straight to my feet. I was so excited to finally compete, but its also Worlds which is a very stressful completion. We take the worlds stage one by one; as we look up we see our family, friends and other supporting us at the bottom of the stage, screaming at the top of their lungs. You see very bright lights, and you can barley see the judges! Its time to get in our spots and close our eyes until the music begins. I yell again and say, “we got this guys, and we can do this!” I bang on the floor one time for good luck. Cannot believe this is actually happening. The music begins, and I get into character. If you’re willing to deal with the pain, tears and sweat, then you will get what you worked for. Coming from a studio, which has never won in all 9 years of competing at worlds, it’s about time we get what we worked for. You may hate the process of working hard, or going full out 10 times until it is perfect. This just comes to show that if you never give up, you will always get what you worked
