Growing up and being a child is something everyone experiences in their life and the actions that progress during this time really defines who you are and who you will become as an adult. Looking back on my childhood, so far, I decided to write my memoir of the time I broke my arm during the summer of transitioning from a middle school student to a high school student. It was finally summer and as a celebration my sister and I decided we would try something new, something we had never done before. That just happened to be rollerblading. We went to the store the day after school let out and we each picked out a pair we liked. Mine were black with accents of orange and just happened to be the most expensive pair, but in the end that’s the pair I had to have. We were excited to try them out, but the next day it rained so instead we decided to watch YouTube videos on how to Rollerblade. Honestly, everyone made it look like it was easy to learn and do, but as I soon found out, it was much harder than it looked. My sister and …show more content…

Unfortunately, I had chosen to go straight down the middle of the hill, leaving me with no way to stop or slow down. So I found myself trying to keep my balance and make it down the hill. However, I never did make it down the hill. As I got to the crack in the road that marked the halfway point I started to lose control. I began swinging my arms to help balance myself because at this point I was off balanced and picking up speed. Suddenly, my left Rollerblade jutted right, knocking my legs out from under me. As I was falling my arm got caught between the concrete and myself, and then I heard a

Growing up is tough. Every day people go through life with careers that they may not enjoy. Throughout the past few weeks I got the opportunity to interview two people about their jobs, one being a young adult who just started working, while the other was approaching her mid-life with an established career. The advice from both of these individuals was both eye opening and helpful. The age of the interviewee definitely influenced the responses I received.…

This story begins on a hot, summer Sunday on a neighborhood playground in Ponte Vedra Beach Florida when I was a kindergartener. The playground had one item that I liked the most which was a thing that you would hold onto then someone would push you across ten feet while your feet were hanging down. My dad came up to push me and might have pushed me a little too hard. When I got to the end of the line there was a rubber block that stops you very abruptly. Due to inertia, I was flung off of the handle over the rail, then did some crazy acrobatics in the air, Finally I landed right on top of my left wrist.…

When I was three I learned to ride a bike. I rode off right away without my mom's help and I kept on riding up and down the street for hours. At first my mom was worried, but then she saw I could ride on my own and she was happy. Some time later, I was tired from riding up and down the street over and over again, so I came back to the driveway and braked as hard as I could with the front brake, which made the bike flip.…

My day had started out with the immediate dread and realization of golf practice later that evening. I was all signed up and “ready to go”. But, if you were to ask me, I had no interest in golf, much less to be a part of a golf club. So, in order to take my mind off things I decided that I was going to ride my bike to my friend’s house.
