The soft music playing and the faint smell of lemon-scented cleaner, which usually calm her down, have no effect on her today. Lia leaves the gym with her fervor for the sport dimmed.
The sign on the gym the next day says that it is closed for repairs. “Sorry, Lia, I know how passionate you are about rock climbing. Hopefully they’ll open again soon,” her mom sympathizes.
