Never before had Reginald Campbell felt so full in his life. He had no clue just how in the world his father, Sam, could go to a Chinese buffet and get six to seven plates of food at a time and still be hungry, whereas he could only go one to two plates with barely any room for dessert.
“Check, please,” Reginald requested of the foreign waitress. She nodded and saw herself to the front of the restaurant.
“How many times do I have to tell you that I can pay for this, Reginald?” his wife asked with a raised brow. As great of a beauty as Charlotte was, she had to have been born stubborn and almost demanding.

Just a silly fortune cookie, Reginald thought to himself. Just a coincidence, right?
But then, just when things couldn’t get any weirder, the power flickered off. Reginald and Charlotte weren’t too worried…until Charlotte was sure she saw something at the window. The dark figure disappeared as quickly as it had arrived.
“Reginald, Reginald!” she shrieked, grabbing her husband’s arm. “There’s someone outside our house!”
This was just too freaky. The fortune…surely it wasn’t real,
