I hadn't realized how tired I really was. After closing my eyes for a minute or two, I heard the patter of raindrops on the ground, on the trampoline, and it biting my skin. When we got home, I showed Casey all the stuff we got, and showed her the monstrous cage we bought for the tiny puppy. It was kind of weird how we bought all this stuff, even though we were not totally sure we could get the dog. “Mom, we could just put the cage in the laundry room, that rooms pointless anyways.” I said, while slowly dragging the screeching crate across the tile floor. The carrier ended up in the back seat and she sat in my lap for the remainder of the drive. The itching pain of her little sharp claws scratching up my arms and legs grew more intense. Such an extensive drive for a puppy alone with new people can be unbearably nerve racking. As we drove up the long driveway of her new home, the new Zapzalka puppy looked out the window for the first time the whole trip. Finally out of the car, we ran around in the tall grass and around the giant trees.…
