When it snows

When it snows what comes to your mind? Maybe snow angels, maybe sledding, or hot chocolate. I love when it snows because I love winter. I like having to wear big jackets, scarfs, and boots. It usually feels like winter to me around the end of November or at the beginning of December.

Snow makes me want to cozy up with a blanket in my warm pajamas and fuzzy socks and watch Christmas movies all day while drinking hot chocolate. In 2014 my family and I had a competition with some people at our church to see who could make the biggest and best snowman, we won! Our snowman was twice the size of all the other families. If we didn't have snow very cold temperatures would freeze the soil deeper and deeper. This would lead to damage of root systems of trees and shrubs. Snow insulation protects strawberry plantings, perennials, and bulbs from alternating freezing and thawing cycles. Snow helps converse the soil moisture over the winter time. When the snow melts, the water helps fill reservoirs and rivers in many regions of the world, it especially helps in the Western United States.

We are starting to have a few cold days here and there which tells you that winter is on its way. I've already pulled my winter clothes out in anticipation for winter weather. Some things my family and I plan to do this winter are having our annual snowman building contest and a snowball fight, and those can sometimes get intense when my dad gets in the zone! I plan to get my camera out to get some pictures of this seasons winter white
