There was once a Kingdom in Denmark named Venlighed, meaning kindness. The kingdom was ruled by a fair King and Queen. One day, the King and Queen were blessed with a gift of a daughter, and they named her Ophelia. But something wasn’t quite right with Ophelia. She was born with a deathly illness, so the noble King and Queen asked for the most powerful fairy godmother in the Kingdom.
“I do not have the power to cure the princess from her illness, but I can give her a gift to help her. The gift I bestow upon Princess Ophelia of Venlighed is a necklace.” The King and Queen both looked confused, but the fairy godmother went on. “This is no ordinary necklace, I assure you. While the princess wears this necklace, her illness will not hurt her. It will cause her no damage, and she will live a normal life. However, there is a price. Because this magic is so powerful if the princess were to take it off, her illness will become worse, and she shall die immediately.” With that, the powerful fairy godmother conjured up a necklace out of thin air. The necklace was small, on the thin string resting in the middle was a medium sized green emerald. The Queen gently took the necklace from the fairy godmother and put it on her small, infant daughter.

“To my understanding, she died this afternoon when someone took off her magically enhanced necklace.” He nodded, his eyes red from crying. “Oliver, there is a way to bring her back.” Before he could ask any questions, she explained. “Her illness resided in her heart. The only way to bring her back to life is to split her true love’s heart in half. She could live with half a heart and so could her true love.
