Personal Narrative Essay: The National Baseball Hall Of Fame

Even since I was little, baseball has and will always be my passion. I have played baseball every summer, but if I had to choose a favorite it would of been the summer of 2010, when I was twelve. The reason why it's my favorite is because I got to experience an event of a lifetime, playing baseball in Cooperstown, New York. There is a tournament there every summer that consists of more than one-hundred teams and the only way to describe it is amazing. In order to play in this tournament, we had to fundraise enough money to be able to compete, and honestly the fundraisers we had held were so much fun. Washing a car doesn't seem to fun, but when you do it with friends and family it's a memory you won't forget. One of the neat aspects on the …show more content…
A smile immediately came on my face and in that at-bat I hit a homerun making that moment even better. After the game, we went out to lunch as a family and it was great. As the week went on, it kept getting better. One of the best things we did was visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame. It was a baseball lover's paradise. Everything in history was in this museum, like Roy Halladay's perfect game ball and even Hank Aaron's locker that he used when he played. And after our tour was done, I got Mike Trout's and Bryce Harper's rookie cards who are two of my favorite players. The other cool activity we did as a team was that we went paint balling as a team. Even our coaches played with us and watching them put all the gear on while getting hit by little paintballs was very funny. By the end of the week, our team had gone 1-7, but personally I had a batting average of.500 while hitting five homeruns, which was the second most by any player there. When it was time to go home, I started crying and I don't think I stopped until an hour later, but it will always be on of the greatest weeks of my

I believe that the Baseball Hall of Fame should stay in New York, but be relocated to Brooklyn. New York has many historical ties to the game of baseball, and it’s more of a central location comparted to Cooperstown. The legend of Abner Doubleday was said to have stated playing baseball in New York in as a rural past time in 1939. Even though this is just a myth many baseball fans associate the beginning of baseball with the state of New York. In 1845 the Knickerbockers were created as a baseball club in New York and they became a central figure of the beginning of baseball.…

The Baseball Hall of Fame is an admired organization reserved for baseballs’ best players. To be a member of the Hall of Fame is the highest honor a baseball player can receive. It only stands to reason that voting for players to receive this honor should not be taken lightly. Players that make their mark on the game in a positive manner are deserving of a place in the Hall of Fame. According to baseballhall.org, voting for players is “based upon the player’s record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played” (para. 11).…

I played multiple positions like 2nd base, 3rd base, shortstop, and pitcher but my main position was…

I loved baseball growing up and I found myself on multiple teams at a time. One of the Leagues I happened to be in was the Lafayette Little League. My brother and I played here for many years and umpired as well. When I was 12 years old, I was put on the Little League all-star team. Unlike the years before on the team, this year was special because we had an opportunity, which was very slim, to go the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.…

Before I went to the World Series, I thought it was a joke, but I guess not because on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH was where the World Series was. I was more ecstatic than ever going to the World Series. When we got there, we had to choose our seats because it was standing room only(SRO). We chose our seats in foul ball territory, just about 15 feet away from the foul pole in left field. The game started and a country band named “Locash” sang the “Star Spangled Banner”, even fireworks shot up into the air making a crackling sound.…
