Personal Narrative: My Experience With Bullying In Elementary School

Improved Essays
I am a giant Chinese college student who has a husky voice and I look like I could murder someone at any time. I’m also a pushover who got bullied in my early school years. Although bullying is a terrible thing to happen to anyone, it was probably the defining moment in my life. When I went to elementary school I was the probably the easiest target to be bullied. I was kind, generous, and introverted. You could’ve tied me to a chair and put a sign that said “bully me”; that’s how easy I was able to be bullied. I remember the people who bullied me. She was the smallest Korean girl you could possibly think of and you probably wouldn’t have suspected her to be the bullying type. The one thing that would throw teachers off her scent was probably …show more content…
I grow on my own terms and speak for myself. Why did I become “decently smart”? I started to learn because it was fun. I don’t do anything if it’s not fun. I’m was giggling like a small Korean girl as I wrote this paper. The moment it’s not funny, I won’t tolerate or do it anymore. I currently attend the damned place that is my elementary school. I always questioned how teachers can teach about bullying and completely miss the mark when one of their own students was being attacked daily. I yell at children. It’s nothing personal, but every time I see injustice done, especially during that childhood time, I see myself all over again. I lead the school in anti-bullying and recreations because it’s fun. The school’s motto is joined together in excellence, but I was always isolated from the group. (I also wasn’t excelling at all) I take that motto and use it every time I teach or every time some child struggled. I also teach to not be afraid to tell on others as part of how to be “a happy camper in …show more content…
Literally that’s why I don’t get bullied now. My growth spurt made it a stupid reason for a bully to fight me. The main question now is how can I stop bullying. There will always be bullies, but once a again it’s probably being a unit with your friends that will save a person. I didn’t have the luxury of forming too many friends and I was susceptible at all angles. I also encourage people to speak up. What the past has been should stay where it is in time. One way I encourage anti-bullying is building up courage and I advise some people to find their bully and curse at them. I found that small Korean girl who now looks ugly and like me but female, and I told her the big fat F. I have the personality that would make a mouse starting yelling out profanities. The way I help prevent bullying is I take this story wherever I go and tell it so people don’t make the same mistakes I

From my personal experience, when I was in elementary school I remember my teacher would let us sit on yoga ball it always helped me concentrate and it helped me when I was really active because I could not move around, it will make me fall if I move around. I like the idea of standing desks because I prefer standing a lot but when I need to I could sit down on the tool, but I could still move my legs around and be somewhat active. So if one day you're feeling antsy you can just stand. Also I think if your tired it could help you stay awake. Mark Benden also states that sitting desk can cause kids to be obese, he also says that too much sitting is bad for your health.…

One, can never prepare for the ramifications of bullying. We are warned and counselled on preparing oneself for the expectations of bullying but until you actually experience it for yourself no one can say for what the outcomes maybe. My mother- in – law is a high school teacher at a school in Bakersfield, CA. She hears the ever depressing comments, the ridicule, the hurtful words aimed towards children who aren’t privileged enough to have nice clothes, name brand shoes, or fancy makeup. There is only so much a teacher can do to intercede but even this is only a temporary…

Back then during middle school, I was one of those kids who just didn't get along with anybody, I was always alone and was pretty much bullied by other kids who thought they were better than me in every way imaginable. Sometimes people are cruel and they still are, but that doesn't mean you return the feeling otherwise your no better than the people who did it to you. It was during lunch that a boy came up to me and starting calling me names, just like any other day. It went on like this for a while until I ended up telling one of my teachers that he was doing this and that this had been happening to me for some time with other students because of how i looked or who I was hanging out with. All of this started in elementary school during 3rd grade, but it just got worse from there and that's where…

Now I’m in college, even though it was a long time ago, the scars from all those years of bullying is still there. I was a very quiet and shy kid, so I guess that made me an easy target. And because I was from Haiti, it made it worse because kids called me banana boat.…

“You won’t amount to anything…you’re too small…you can compete with us”. For my whole life I have been hearing those words from my peers to adults, coaches and the list goes on. During my school career it was a breeze until I got to middle school. Once I hit the sixth grade the name calling and constant judging from the seventh and eighth graders started. However, what really struck me with disbelief was how my “friends” started to treat me, as if joining in on the banter was “cool” and did it to fit in with the older/cooler kids.…

Even from an early age, I had no desire to interact with the other children nor to make friends.…
