Personal Narrative Essay: The Consequences Of My Life

Improved Essays
At the age of six I hadn’t given much thought about life and death, but this day changed that. As a baby, I can’t imagine all the things I did that put myself in danger. I was completely unaware of the consequences of my actions. As a child, I was playful, innocent, and cheerful. Throughout my years of growing up I have learned many lessons through life. Only a few events happened before this one that I can remember. On my 6th birthday, life could have been lost, and from that I learned to always be careful, that life is precious, and anything can change in an instant. I woke up Saturday afternoon. Since it was Saturday, I slept longer than usual. Today was the day chosen to celebrate my birthday, which was actually a few days before. It was …show more content…
I exited the back door of the house, stepping on the brown stained wood deck. The deck stretched the length of the house, with a white wooden fence enclosing the rest of the yard. Kids and parents started showing up with presents, water guns, and other water toys in hand. Us kids were playing in the pool and running around the house shooting water guns at each other, having an awesome time. After much fun, we all relaxed and began to eat. My dad grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, and corn on the cob. The smell of fresh meat cooking on the grill lingered throughout the party. Then, came my birthday cake. I remember everyone singing happy birthday as I blew out the candles. Next, everyone was relaxing and talking when we all heard a sudden splash in the pool. After I turned around, I saw a baby. He was less than 2 years old and had fallen into the pool. The baby, wearing only a diaper and a blue shirt, started to sink into the pool. I can’t imagine the look of shock on my face when seeing the baby in the pool. Before I or anyone else could react, a tall adult jumped into the pool to rescue the baby. It only took seconds before the man was lifting the baby above his head, out of the pool and onto the deck. The baby wasn’t happy about what happened and cried for a little

Siekman, my best friends Charlee and Montserrat, and a few parents that my mom knew. We started off with Cork Screw, and the Mine ride, which were both super fun and a good start, and each ride we did, slowly got bigger and bigger, and better and better, except for Blue Streak, which is the oldest coaster in the park, and I thought I was going to fall out. But other than that we had a great time, I had chicken strips, tacos, and fries for lunch and Mom had a giant wrap and fries. Then we split a steaming hot “Valraven” funnel cake, which had piles of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, hot fudge sauce, chocolate and caramel sauce that melted in your mouth, and TONS of powdered sugar, the whole thing was big enough for four people, and we finished it…
