I was in the school waiting for the last seconds to count down before summer would begin. Wahoo! I was thinking about what I would do and saying that this is going to be the best summer ever. But then my mom called and told me that my grandma had died of cancer at the age of 85. I couldn't believe it. My mom also told me we were going to New mexico for a week to go to her funeral. Well, I thought, at least I get to go to New Mexico.

I couldn't believe it. When I was gone, I didn't feed him and he died. I just sat there crying, looking at my dead guinea pig that we just got a week ago. My mom told me I could get another one, eventually.
Two days later I went to volleyball practice. When I got out of the blue Mercedes, I walked up to the field then stopped in my tracks. Something was wrong, something was totally wrong. In the middle of the court laid my volleyball coach. All of us were in a circle around him. I asked what happened, and a girl said “He’s dead! He’s dead!” She screamed that he perished of cancer. I went on my knees and just vociferate. The next day we went to the funeral. When I got home, I found my dad on the floor. I immediately called 911. When the ambulance took him to the hospital, they found out that he had a stroke. The next day was the first day of school and I did nothing that summer. It was a tough summer having been in a car crash and seeing my dad have a stroke. My great grandma died of cancer and my volleyball coach died of cancer and my guinea pig died, but I found ways to overcome this experience with my friends and my mom comforting me.
