“Go get Fallon from upstairs. I want to talk to her.” I could hear my mom telling my sister. “Fallon mom wants you, so hurry up.” Said my older sister, Amanda. I slowly walked down the stairs to my mom, thinking I was in trouble. Once I got to her I realized that she wasn’t mad, so I knew I wasn’t in trouble. “Fallon, I want you to get your boating license this year. Last year when we went up to the lake you complained that you couldn’t drive the wave runners with JC. Once you get your license you will be able to drive them.”
“Mom, there is no point of me getting on. I honestly don’t even care.” I responded with extreme attitude. A month passed and it was July. JC snapchatted me asking if I had gotten my boating license this year. JC is one

It told me that it would take about three hours and that there were six different units. The first unit of the test was on parts of the boat like the bow and the stern. The second unit was on the rules of the water, docking, and casting off. The next unit was on navigation in open waters. The fourth unit was the most challenging for me. It was about the laws of the water, it was challenging for me since it had twelve chapters in it. The rest of the units were about emergencies and sports on the water. When it was time for me to take the final test I knew thought that it would be easy. I decided to take the practice test first and I ended up passing that. Once I found the right sized life jackets I hopped onto the wave runner while my dad was holding it down. My dad then got on and told me, “Now Fallon, you’ll have to go slow since right next to you there is a swim zone.” I slowly pulled back the throttle and we started to go. “Now Fallon, pull the throttle back more ad we will go.” The wind was blowing my hair, it was in my dad’s face but I didn’t care, I was having fun. I did two laps around the whole entire lake. Once I was finished, I went to go and dock it. JC came up to me and asked, “Fallon want to go out and

Managing to break free from the first set of waves, I pushed forth into the next set of unceasing five foot waves. With legs bent upwards and arms plunging one after the other in a Michael Phelps mentality to finish the race with swift strokes, I kept my body centered in the middle of my seven foot board just like my grandpa positioned me to do so. With a split second to pause and raise my head to look over an oncoming wave, I made out the face of my grandpa, looking back at me from his own board and grinning at the look of my determined face to get out into the line-up. Eminent to the gray-haired “townies” who create their own spindrift from whipping the tail of their boards high in the air, is a homely beach, Rockpiles.…
