I took a vacation to Italy. There was a lot of beautiful scenery, wonderful food, and so much more. I visited Rome, Venice, and Florence, went to the beaches, ate lots of Italian food, and went June 18-25th so it would not be too hot or too cold. First, I had to figure out what all I needed for my trip to Italy, I discovered I had to get a passport to even enter the country.” Passports should have at least six months remaining validity beyond your departure date. There are so many alleys and nooks and I am just not into all that. Truthfully alleys scare me. One thing I did like in Florence was the chapels. If you are a big shopper Florence would be the place to go as they have lots of shops to explore. I sure love pasta foods, although they are not good for me as a diabetic. However, I eat them all the time because they are my favorite. Italy definitely has a huge variety of pasta. Some call it antipasti. Italy’s restaurants are way beyond our typical Olive Garden restaurant for sure. The food tastes so much fresher and looks more handmade than in our restaurants here in the United States. I have also seen a variety of cheese. My favorite is Colby jack. The currency is Italy is “euro’s” (www.wikipedia.com). To compare many expenses between Italy and Tennessee I used www.numbeo.com. The culture of Italy is that it is a first world country, Italian. Northern Italy has high GDP and care the most about business compared to that of Southern Italy that has low GDP, high unemployment, friendly, cheerful, outgoing, and lazier (www.factsofitaly.com). Also as mentioned in class Italy is like California.
The economy of Italy is that it is the eighth largest nominal GDP and largest exporter, has European Union (www.factsaboutitaly.com).
Italy’s religion is Christian and Roman catholic.
Characteristics of Italy include: GDP 1.850 trillion, GDP per capita USD, birth rate at per woman, death rate at 10.4/1000, median age at 46.3 years, literacy at 99.2%, and life expectancy at 83.49 years (www.cia.gov).
The government type is democratic republican/ constitutional and unitary state. The politics are parliamentary republic with a multi-party system
