Personal Narrative Essay: I Walk Into The Male Washroom

I stand on the toilet I was sitting on so he wouldn't be able to see me. He’s male because why else would he walk into the male washroom?
“Damn it, who the hell left these on?”
I took a risky peek out of the stall, hoping that he wouldn’t see me. It was the civilian. I went back down and he walked near me and probably went to the stall beside me. He probably didn’t know I was here. I can safely knock him out. But how? I didn’t have any weapons. Except, for my fists. I didn’t hear him lock the stall, a push to open the stall and a hard knock on the head should knock him out. I pushed open the door.
“Hey what the-”
I put all my force into my fist, he was knocked out. I have a limited time before he wakes up, I close the stall and jammed it so

Or are ya resting?”
“Sorry sir, I thought he would be near here, we haven't found him for a long time, he must be hiding somewhere.” I informed him
“Fine, look around if you have too, I need to make sure he doesn’t escape.”
“Yes sir” I respond, and he left
I looked into the bridge, there was no one in there. Huh, I thought, there had to be one person at the bridge, weird. I found the final power box, as I open it to rewire it, the ship’s alarm triggered. Someone had used a lifeboat.
Chapter 9
“What the heck? I thought they were looking for me” I thought out loud
“Well, they couldn’t find you, and now they are sinking the ship to get rid of you.”
“What!? Why didn't you tell me before?!”
“You were talking to the captain, I couldn’t blow your cover. I also only found out seconds ago!”
“Argh, fine, I faxed you a copy of the yacht shemeicatics. Find me the nearest lifeboat, I'm on the bridge.”
“There should be one under a chair, it only inflates in one second, so stay far away when inflating it.”
I looked under 3 chairs. No life boat. The fourth chair had one under it.
“Found

And the lifeboat swaying is not helping. I was thinking about Luke’s words. Something about trusting Landon, and he is on our side, and I need his help. But after what he has done? Why should I trust him?
“Hey, it’s me, Landon”
“What, how did you-”
“I patched in when you were talking to Luke in a washroom stall, and you knocked out the poor man, I’d know his voice anywhere, he was my friend you know”
I didn’t respond.
“Look, I know you got little incentive to trust me after what happened, but sending you there was the only credible ruse we had time for, to get you out of HQ. We had some intel of an attack was going to happen but not when or what. Keeping you in the dark was my call, not Luke's. Never thought they would actually be able to destroy the HQ. Look, I realize it's a ton to comprehend, but you got out alive, yeah? I'm sorry about Luke... We'll deal with it... but first we have to get you out of there. Please trust me, I'm not lying. I promise, I'll prove it.”
I hesitated.
“Look, You don’t have to believe me, but, you have to come to shore, I need to show you something, I’ll fill you in about what I know while you row to shore.”
“Argh, fine” What choice did I have?
“You just need to find shore, I can get someone to pick you

Today is going to be just like any other day, I sketched in my morning journal. The morning Baltimore sun shone past the skyscrapers of downtown, and light protruded through the silk blinds that covered half of the picture window in my room. I rose up from my queen bed. The sheets had become untucked and the comforter lay halfway off the edge. My back rested against the mahogany headboard with my head fitting perfectly between two of the wooden posts.…

I miss them already. Despite the freezing cold snow and the nipping air, we had a lovely Christmas break. As I inspect my child, now grown with children of her own, holding tickets back to their home, longing envelopes me. Hoards of people push past, unaware of my pain, on their own schedules and heading toward different trains, talking and texting on their cell phones. My family boards, time as if in slow-motion, and waves goodbye until I see them again.…

In the early morning hours when everyone was savoring that last good hour and a half before they had to roll out of their rack the 1MC (announcing system) crackled to life. Slightly awake I listened as a fire was called away in the ships laundry. I am sad to say that it took a moment for those of us who had heard it to realize that this was the space under our berthing but once we did we were up rousing everyone from their sleep. With the first few up and moving the door was ripped open filling the space with smoke as they evacuated. Myself along with two other sailors stayed behind rechecking every rack for people that may have been looked over.…
