Personal Narrative: Deep Rap Music

Decent Essays
The music that inspires me is deep rap music. I enjoy this type of music because it actually has meaning unlike recent music artist like lil uzi vert. Some artists that are inspiring to me are 2pac, kendrick lamar and bone thugs n harmony. Even though I can’t relate to all of it I like to listen to it when I am going through something because it makes me realize that some people are going through something but they are still happy and thankful for what they have. Some songs I really like are like Dear Mama by 2pac all eyez on me by 2pac and Me Against The World by 2pac. The music that inspires me is typically older music like the eighties and nineties. Most rappers right now I don't listen to because they have no meaning. Most of the …show more content…
Some are buy old school rap and new school rappers. Some of these songs are 2 glocks by bone thugs n harmony east nintine nindey nine by bone thugs n harmony and every day by asap mob. Those songs have some meaning but not as much as others on the previous paragraphs. Also to other people some of the artists like lil uzi may have meaning but just to me they don’t. And who am I to talk they are obviously successful but I still don't enjoy their music. Some songs I do like by some artist are bad and bouji, water and look at me. Some old school rappers are still popular some are still music artist or movie actors like Ice Cube is into acting you may have seen him in ride along or snoop dog is still making music. I wouldn't know cause I wasn't there but I think that it was harder to blow up back then because there was no internet where just anyone could just upload something like if there wasn't internet i don't think half the new school rappers would not be famous. Some rappers have there own clothing brands or their own shoes like drake has ovo and has his own jordans and eminem has the shady brand. Pretty much all rappers have clothing apparel but not necessarily their own brand. Some rappers are doing things in the community like drake has donated to charity and has fed homeless people at a

Kanye West (a.k.a Ye, a.k.a Yeezy, a.k.a Louis Vuitton Don) is a name that hasn’t left the media for the past decade. Perhaps due to his antics, his ever-evolving hairstyle, or his wildly (subjectively) overpriced fashion line, Kanye has had a visceral grip on the public. I’ve been entranced by him, but not because of his cool clothes or trendy music. He is my favourite artist because his ambition is unparalleled. He has worked for years to achieve the perfect sound, proving his musical caliber with each release.…

The artists that have influenced me the most are Iranian rappers. Iranian rap is known as underground rap, due to rap performances being illegal in Iran. Therefore, these artists risk being arrested, in order to spread awareness and bring about change. Their lyrics have a profound influence on young people and increasingly the masses have begun to accept rap as a tool for public awareness. I admire these artists as they lyrically described their surroundings and the hardship people face in their everyday lives.…

Michael Jackson did not just inspire my life but he impacted it in various ways. His death touched me so hard that it felt like it was just yesterday. I remember sitting in front of my T.V. watching 106&park and in the beginning of the show they received a phone call reporting that MJ was in the ambulance or his house where they were trying to help him get his breath of air back.…

Before, this assignment I really only knew what rap music and what it brought to the world. For example, Pete Seeger was an American folk singer and listening to a couple of his songs they brought laughing, joy, dancing, loving, embracing, and peace. During a concert he mention that “ you can make a combination between the best and the old and new” and starts to play You gotta walk that lonesome valley which brought joy. As I can observe with a couple of concerts that I saw on Youtube, they brought the people together with his music. He also introduced songs from other cultures like from South America, Israel, and Cuba .…

Dear Allyson, this mix tape is for you to expose you to the beauty of rap music. Your disgust for rap music is repulsive, but your unwillingness to at least try to listen and experience the rap culture is far more aggravating for me. I understand why you are opposed to rap music because it has had a long reputation of being a form of music that represents gang violence, drugs, alcohol, sex exploitation, and any other negative connotations that the stereotypical rap music has to offer. However, there is a deeper meaning and reality of rap music that is most commonly misunderstood. NAV, the artist of Myself, reflects on himself being on drugs versus being sober.…

Rap often includes sex, drugs, alcohol, and violence, but just because the rappers talk about these activities, doesn’t mean that they actually participate in them. Most rappers often rap about what they see in their daily lives. They give a positive message on how they feel about a situation and because they have so many fans they feel like they’re the ones to help them make a change. They rap about situations they are in and want to help others dealing with the same struggles. Not all successful rappers want to flash their money around and buy expensive things just because they have the money, but to make an effort to help change the world.…

In my opinion, music has changed a lot in the recent years. Music before had more meaningful lyrics and original music. Today, most of the music genres has gone in the wrong direction, of course there still some musicians who are devoted and still producing an outstanding work. For example, many singer of Rap and Hip Hop music are including meaningless words and contents such as cars, wealth, sex, and other related things to their music and forgetting the important issues in life like hunger and wars. Moreover, the video clips produced for these songs are obviously made for the singer to show off.…

Music. It’s just a five letter word that may only mean to people, the sounds that come out of the radio or what they have downloaded into their iPods or even the background to an amazing new dance craze, but it means so much more than that to me. Songwriters in my opinion take the time to pull out that pen and paper to write down what they know, experienced, and felt to make into a melody so that others can relate to what they have and know that there is someone out there just like them. When you hear a song what you hear is the instrument and the lyrical components that make up that song and each part is crucial to understanding what an artist is trying to tell as your listeners. Such as when I hear a song that gives me chills I wonder how it is the creator did come up with this wonderful composition and find my head following the rhythm of the beat.…

“Feminists are man-hating, bra-burning, big fat ugly, unhygienic women who are needy, whiny, greedy, lesbians” (“Yes All Women”). Similarly to all social groups, feminists are given harsh, demeaning, and false stereotypes. Not all feminists hate men nor are they all unhygienic. Feminists are not all homosexuals either; in fact, feminists can be celebrity male role models such as David Radcliffe, Harry Styles, and Chris Colfer. Over the years, feminists have dealt with being branded by negative perceptions that derive from the media - not the movement’s mission in itself (Law).…
